Precipitation was collected at Gaviota at Hwy 101 N rest stop in the Santa Barbara coastal area (site ID: GV201).A Tipping Bucket rain gauge from either Qualimetrics (Model 6011B) or Sutron (Model 5600-0425-2) was used.
Sub-fossil crustacean zooplankton relative abundances from 101 lakes across Canada
<p>This data set contains cladoceran sub-fossil relative abundances for 101 lakes across Canada sampled as part of the NSERC Canadian Lake Pulse Network project. Lakes were sampled once, over three summers (2017-2018-2019). Cores were collected using a gravity corer in the deepest point of each lake and were sectioned on site with a vertical extruder. Each lake was sampled for a “top” sediment sample, represented by the first centimeter of the surface of the sediment core, and a “bottom” sediment sample, corresponding to the 1 cm of sediment located between 3 and 4 cm from the base of the core. Cladoceran extraction and preparation followed the protocol from Korhola and Rautio (2001). Cladocerans were identified using DM 2500 Leica compound inverted microscope under 200X-400X magnification with a minimal count size of 100 individuals. Identification at the species, genus, or species complex level followed Szeroczynska and Sarmaja-Korjonen (2007) and Korosi and Smol (2012a; b).</p> <p>Sites are identified with Lake ID number, followed by “T” for top samples and “B” for bottom samples. Stream Discharge and water temperature were collected with a Solinst Model 3001 LT Levelogger at Gaviota Creek along Highway 101 at the South Rest Stop, GV01 in the Santa Barbara coastal area (site ID: GV01). Data are reported hourly. Stage values were converted to discharge using a rating curve developed with stream channel cross-sections, roughness estimates and the HEC-RAS model.

Dataset for sound source localization with 101 Blinky sound-to-light conversion sensors
<p>Blinkies are sound-to-light conversion devices that can be used to monitor the sound level over large areas. The data from the sensors is harvested using a video camera. This dataset contains seven videos that were recorded in the gymnastical hall of Tokyo Metropolitan University, Hino Campus on July 3rd 2018. In the video, 101 Blinkies are spread on the ground of the gymnastic hall. A bluetooth speaker mounted on a remote controlled car runs between the Blinkies, causing them to change intensity. The file `pyramic_json` is a JSON format file containing all the meta-data necessary such as sensor locations, room dimensions, and segmentation information.</p> <p>This dataset was used to demonstrate sound source localization in the paper "Blinkies: Open source sound-to-light conversion sensors for large-scale acoustic sensing and applications" by Robin Scheibler and Nobutaka Ono (to appear).</p>
