Bird Abundances at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (1969-present) and on three replicate plots (1986-2000) in the White Mountain National Forest
Bird abundances have been determined from timed censuses, territory maps and nest locations at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest from 1969 to the present. This data set includes counts of the number of adult birds (males and females) per 10 ha at HBEF (1969 - present) and on three additional plots within the White Mountain National Forest (1986 - 2000). These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.
Bird Abundances at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (1969-present) and on three replicate plots (1986-2000) in the White Mountain National Forest (Reformatted to the ecocomDP Design Pattern)
This data package is formatted as an ecocomDP (Ecological Community Data Pattern). For more information on ecocomDP see https://github.com/EDIorg/ecocomDP. This Level 1 data package was derived from the Level 0 data package found here: https://pasta.lternet.edu/package/metadata/eml/knb-lter-hbr/81/7. The abstract below was extracted from the Level 0 data package and is included for context: Bird abundances have been determined from timed censuses, territory maps and nest locations at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest from 1969 to the present. Precipitation and dry deposition chemistry concentrations and fluxes, Andrews Experimental Forest, 1969 to present
Collection and analyses of precipitation chemistry were initiated in 1969 at the low-elevation Primary Met site, and in 1973 at a mid-elevation Hi-15 site. Rain collection samples accumulate from one week to three weeks in bulk and NADP type collectors and then are transported to Cooperative Chemical Analytical Laboratory (CCAL) for analysis. Analytes include nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon, and cations and anions as well as pH, conductivity, alkalinity and particulate sediment. Concentration and volume of precipitation are combined for inflow. Dry deposition chemistry concentrations began in 1989 and are analyzed 2-4 times per year at one site. The original objectives were to evaluate precipitation chemistry inputs versus chemistry outputs in streamflow from forested watersheds. The study has evolved into a general monitoring effort for precipitation chemistry that is among the least contaminated of any within the USA. This study is conducted in conjunction with Andrews streamflow chemistry (CF002) and the U.S. National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP).
Bird Abundances at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (1969-present) and on three replicate plots (1986-2000) in the White Mountain National Forest (Reformatted to a Darwin Core Archive)
This data package is formatted as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A, event core). For more information on Darwin Core see https://www.tdwg.org/standards/dwc/. Average Tree Growth (DBH,Circumfrance, and BasalArea) at LTTG Sites, 1969-Present: Yearly
This data set is a collection of tree growth measurements from a large number of research plots. Each plot is either a stand control plot or has a treantment aplied to it (Fertilization, Thinning, or combination).
Tree Growth data taken at LTTG sites, 1969-Present: Reported Yearly
This data set contains tree growth data from factoral fertilized treatment plots set up as part of the Long Term Tree Growth research study. Selected trees were measured with diameter tapes each fall.
Chemistry of Bulk Precipitation at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, 1969 - present, Robert S. Pierce Ecosystem Laboratory Facility
Precipitation chemistry has been measured at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest since 1963. This data set includes volume-weighted, average, monthly concentrations of cations, anions, and pH. Monthly averages are calculated from samples collected at weekly intervals from HBEF Raingage 22 (RG-22), adjacent to the Robert S. Pierce Ecosystem Laboratory. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.
