North Temperate Lakes LTER Northern Highland Lake District Land Use - Land Cover 1990s
Land use/land cover was interpreted from historical aerial photographs for riparian buffer zones surrounding 50 lakes in Vilas County, Wisconsin. Photography from the 1930s, 1960s, and 1990s were interpreted, resulting in land use/land cover data for three time periods.
North Temperate Lakes LTER Yahara Lakes District Land Use - Land Cover 1990s
Land use/land cover was interpreted from historical aerial photographs for selected watersheds in Dane County, Wisconsin. Photography from the 1930s, 1960s, and 1990s were interpreted, resulting in land use/land cover data for three time periods.
A dataset of late 1990s and early 2000s web banner ads on Chinese- and English-language web pages

This dataset contains information about 22,915 unique banner ad images appearing on Chinese- and English-language web pages in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The dataset is mined from 1,384,355 archived web page snapshots downloaded from the Wayback Machine, representing 77,747 unique HTTP URLs. The URLs are collected from six printed Internet directory books published in mainland China and the United States between 1999 and 2001, as part of a larger research project on Chinese-language web archiving.

For each banner ad image, the dataset provides standard image metadata such as file format and dimension. The dataset also provides the original URLs of the web pages where the banner ad image was found, timestamps of the archived web page snapshots containing the image, archived URLs of the image file, and, if available, archived URLs of web pages to which the ad image is linked. Additionally, the dataset provides text data obtained from the banner ad images using optical character recognition (OCR). We expect the dataset to be useful for researchers across a variety of disciplines and fields such as visual culture, history, media studies, and business and marketing.

Changes in oceanic radiocarbon and CFCs since the 1990s

This directory contains the MITgcm ECCOv4-TM simulation output used in "Changes in oceanic radiocarbon and CFCs since the 1990s" (Lester et al., 2023) submitted to the Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans.

Ocean tracer simulations were created using transports matrices (TMs) derived from state estimates from the Estimating the Climate and Circulation of the Ocean version 4 (ECCOv4) based on a global configuration of the MITgcm model (MITgcm ECCOv4-TM). The monthly-mean TMs and the transport matrix method was used to simulate CFC-11, CFC-12 and abiotic DIC and 14C in DIC. CFC concentrations were converted to partial pressures (pCFC) by dividing by their solubility functions.

Output is provided as Matlab .mat files. Files are named as MITgcm_ECCOv4TM_XXX.mat, where XXX is one of D14C, DIC14, DIC, pCFC11 and pCFC12 and contains annual mean fields for:

Delta-14C [per mil],

DIC14 concentration [mol/m3],

DIC concentration [mol/m3],

pCFC-11 concentration [ppt] and

pCFC-12 concentration [ppt] respectively.

For full details about the simulations and results see Lester et al. (2023).

Distribution. Balabac, Ramos, and Bugsuk Is, Palawan region, Phillipines. In the late 1990s, a small stock of eight Balabac Chevrotains escaped from their enclosures on Calauit Island, a small island off the coast of Busuanga Island, north of Palawan, where the species had been maintained and bred since 1982. These animals were reported to have increased to at least 21 free-living individuals by 2006. Apparently the species was also introduced to the larger island of Palawan. No recent records confirm that it is still extant there, although unconfirmed reports suggest that it may survive in southern Palawan. in Tragulidae

The Table 1 presents the results of surveys, in 18 Ibero-American countries and in the world, carried out in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) or Web of Science - Core Collection - Clarivate Analytics – (WoS) and Scopus (Elsevier): AR - Argentina, BR - Brazil, CL - Chile, CO - Colombia, CR - Cota Rica, CU - Cuba, DO - Dominican Republic, EC - Ecuador, ES - Spain, GT - Guatemala, HN - Honduras, MX - Mexico, NI - Nicaragua, PA - Panama, PE - Peru, PT - Portugal, SV - El Salvador, UY - Uruguay.

Merging the Scopus and Web of Science bases, the scientometric methodology of K-Synth (Bibliometrix) is applied here, according to which the scientific production of each country is measured by the number of appearances of authors by country affiliations. Thus, if in an article there are, for example, three authors working, respectively, in Brazil, Spain and the USA, the appearance counter will be increased by 1 for each of them. Due to the identification of some gaps, the electronically merged data were reconciled with the original databases.

As for the Main Subject Areas, the classification adopted is that of Scopus Elsevier, as well as the compiled data, as it is the most quantitatively complete basis for this research.

Data is updated until October 1, 2024.
