Modelled relative abundance of bird species in Britain and Ireland 2007-2011
<p>This data package describes the modelled relative (not absolute) abundance of Carrion Crow (<em>Corvus corone</em>), Magpie (<em>Pica pica</em>), Buzzard (<em>Buteo buteo</em>), Kestrel (<em>Falco tinnunculus</em>) and Red Kite (<em>Milvus milvus</em>) in Britain and Ireland.</p> <p>This was used to produce Bird Atlas 2007-2011 <a href="https://app.bto.org/mapstore/StoreServlet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">maps</a> of relative abundance at a tetrad (2x2km) resolution. </p> <p>Acknowledgement: These data originate from the Bird Atlas 2007–11 project which was run by the BTO in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland and the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club. Microplankton counts from discrete water column samples using flow imaging microscopy (FlowCam) from Lakes Fryxell and Hoare, McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica (2007-2011)
This data package consists of microplankton counts from discrete water column samples collected at various depths in Lake Fryxell and Lake Hoare in the McMurdo Dry Valleys region of Antarctica. Samples were collected and preserved during the austral summer-autumn transition in 2007-2008 and in addition to routine McMurdo Dry Valley Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) core limnological sampling in November and December of 2008, 2010, and 2011. Data were imaged using flow cytometry (FlowCam VS-IV) and classified with statistical image-based software (Visual Spreadsheet, v4.17.14). These data include haptorian ciliates, filamentous cyanobacteria, and coccoidal algae particle counts per milliliter that were automatically classified from user-built libraries and statistical filters based on the morphological characterizations of the plankton.
NACP Peatland Land Cover Map of Upper Peninsula, Michigan, 2007-2011
This dataset provides a land cover map focused on peatland ecosystems in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The map was produced at 12.5-m resolution using a multi-sensor fusion (optical and L-band SAR) approach with imagery from Landsat-5 TM and ALOS PALSAR collected between 2007 and 2011. A random forest classifier trained with polygons delineated from field data and aerial photography was used to determine pixel classes. Accuracy assessment based on field-sampled sites show high overall map accuracy (92%).
