Rhythms and Nocturnal Activities of Wood Ants in the Neuwied Basin, Germany 2010-2016
In situ activity patterns of two Formica-rufa group species (F. pratensis; F. polyctena) were continuously studied at four different red wood-ant nests during six months in each of the years 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016 and related to weather factors and variations of the Earth’s magnetic field. In situ activity patterns of both species are similarly periodic and exhibit ultradian, and short and long infradian rhythms under natural Light:Dark conditions. Crepuscular and nocturnal activities ≤ 4-hr long were observed in both species, especially at the new moon and first quarter after the astronomical twilight in a period of darkness in fall. We hypothesize that local variability in Earth’s magnetic field affects long-term activity patterns, whereas humidity and temperature were more strongly associated with ultradian rhythms (less than 20 hr).
Demographic, economic, geospatial data for municipalities of the Central Federal District in Russia (excluding the city of Moscow and the Moscow oblast) in 2010-2016

The database contains demographic, economic, geospatial data for 452 municipalities of the 16 administrative units of the Central Federal District in Russia (excluding the city of Moscow and the Moscow oblast) for 2010-2016.

The sources of data are the municipal-level statistics of Rosstat, Google Maps data and calculated indicators. The statistical data were arranged by the year, the data on municipalities for which there were administrative and territorial transformations for the period under study were excluded (in some cases, the data were provided in accordance with the administrative-territorial demarcation as of 2016).

Municipalities' websites were used to fill the lack of population information in individual municipalities for some years.

Calculated variables were made to estimate a number of indicators per capita, to introduce additional demographic indicators (e.g. migration inflow rate), to bring price economic indicators to base year prices (2010). For example, indicators of income of the local budget, volumes of investments in fixed assets (excluding budgetary funds), level of wages are modified to a comparable form (to 2010 prices).

The distances on roads in different units of measurement from the geographical center of municipalities to the center of the capital of the region are calculated using the Google Maps database.

Data mapping was performed using ArcGIS software.

The data set consists of

1) Municipalities_CFD_Russia_2010_2016_ENG.xlsx - The database of demographic, economic, geospatial data for 452 municipalities of the 16 administrative units of the Central Federal District in Russia (excluding the city of Moscow and the Moscow oblast) for 2010-2016,

2) MUNICIPALITIES_CFD_RUSSIA_SHAPE.rar - The shape-files for maps construction,

3) Fig.1. TAASRAD19 Radar Scans 2010-2016

TAASRAD19 (Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Radar 2019) is a high-resolution radar reflectivity dataset collected by the Civil Protection weather radar of the Trentino South Tyrol Region, in the Italian Alps.
The dataset includes 894,916 scans of precipitation from more than 9 years of data, offering a novel resource to develop and benchmark analog ensemble models and machine learning solutions for precipitation nowcasting. Data are expressed as 2D images, considering the maximum reflectivity on the vertical section and 5 minutes sampling rate, covering an area of 240km of diameter at 500m horizontal resolution. The TAASRAD19 distribution also includes a curated set of 1,732 sequences, for a total of 362,233 radar images, labeled with precipitation type tags assigned by expert meteorologists. We validated TAASRAD19 as a benchmark for nowcasting using deep learning model to forecast reflectivity and a procedure based on the UMAP dimensionality reduction method for interactive exploration.
Software methods for data pre-processing, model training and inference, and a pre-trained model are
publicly available at https://github.com/MPBA/TAASRAD19 for replication and reproducibility.

Sediment grain size in seagrass restoration plots in the Virginia coastal bays, 2010-2016
This dataset contains particle size distributions for sediment samples collected from Z. marina restoration plots in Hog Island Bay and South Bay, VA. Samples were collected every three years starting in 2010 from 64 sites in Hog Island Bay (58 restored seagrass sites, 6 bare sites), and 12 sites in South Bay (6 restored seagrass sites, 6 bare sites). Bare sites in South Bay were no longer sampled after 2013, due to colonization of the sites by seagrass. Restored sites were seeded between 2001-2008; plot-level particle size distributions were combined based on the age of the plots during each sampling year.

Carbon Pools across CONUS using the MaxEnt Model, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2016, and 2017
This dataset provides annual estimates of six carbon pools, including forest aboveground live biomass, belowground biomass, aboveground dead biomass, belowground dead biomass, litter, and soil organic matter, across the conterminous United States (CONUS) for 2005, 2010, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Carbon stocks were estimated using a modified MaxEnt model. Measurements of pixel-specific site conditions from remote sensing data were combined with field inventory data from the U.S. Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA). Remote sensing data inputs included Thematic Mapper on Landsat 5, Operational Land Imager on Landsat 8, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on Aqua, microwave radar measurements from Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) on Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) and PALSAR-2 ALOS-2, airborne imagery from National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP), and the digital elevation model from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). Data from satellite and airborne sources were co-registered on a common 100 m (1 ha) grid.
