Simulated Sea Ice and Snow Thickness along the MOSAIC drift trajectory, from AWI-CM-1 and AWI-CM-3 nudged simulations.

Sea ice thickness and snow (on sea ice) thickness from nudged simulations performed using the coupled climate models AWI-CM-1 (zonal wavenumber truncated at 20) and AWI-CM-3 (T20 truncation; Pithan et al., 2023) with a 1h relaxation time. The model data is collocated to the drift trajectory of the Multidisciplinary Drifting Observatory for the Study of the Arctic Climate (MOSAIC) across the Arctic Ocean, from 01 September 2019 until 31 August 2020. The collocation is done daily, by finding all model grid cells within the area covered by the distributed network of snow and sea ice measuring instruments deployed and maintained during MOSAIC. The sea ice and snow thickness is then spatially averaged for each day.

Data is provided in three .nc files for each model and variable (m_ice for sea ice thickness, m_snow for snow thickness) representing ensemble members 1 to 3.

Climatological global-mean Sea Surface Temperature (SST) in AWI-CM-1-1-MR simulations for CMIP6, in preindustrial, present-day, +2°C, +3°C, and +4°C climates

Daily climatologies of global-mean sea surface temperature (SST, parameter 'tos') free-running simulations performed using the coupled climate models AWI-CM-1-1-MR. The unstructured grid-ocean component FESOM was conservatively remapped to the ERA5 grid. Data was averaged across the 5 ensemble members and temporally averaged over 10-year long time periods: 1850-1859 for preindustrial climate, 2015-2024 for present-day, 2034-2043 for +2°C climate, 2061-2079 for +3°C climate, and 2091-2100 for +4°C climate.

Data is provided in .nc files, one for each climate.

Efficient ensemble data assimilation for coupled models with the Parallel Data Assimilation Framework: Example of AWI-CM - output files and plot scripts

This archive outputs_plotting.zip contains the raw output files (STDOUT) from the scaling runs performed for the paper "Efficient ensemble data assimilation for coupled models with the Parallel Data Assimilation Framework: Example of AWI-CM" submitted to GMD (gmd-2019-167). Further the scripts to extract timing information from the raw output files and plot scripts are included.

The archive SST-DA_plotting.zip contains the scripts to compute RMS errors for the free ensemble run (output file in gmd_N46_free.zip) and the SST assimilation run (gmd_N46_sst.zip) and to plot these. The two output files contain each a Netcdf file with the ensemble mean state information and the stdout file from the model run.
