Dataset for "An Alternative Chlorine-Assisted Optimization of CdS/Sb2Se3 Solar Cells: Towards Understanding of Chlorine Incorporation Mechanism"

The current strategies in the development of Sb2Se3 thin film solar cells involve fabrication and optimization of
superstrate and substrate device architectures, with the preferable choice for TiO2 and CdS heterojunction layers.
For CdS-based superstrate cells, several studies reported the necessity to apply CdCl2 or other metal halide-based
post-deposition treatment (PDT), highlighting improvement of CdS/Sb2Se3 device efficiency. However, the need,
effect, and mechanism of such PDT are very often not described. Additionally, the fact that many groups have not
succeeded in demonstrating its benefits suggests that this strategy is not straightforward, requiring a deeper
understanding towards a more unified concept. The present study proposes an alternative approach to the
challenging CdCl2 PDT of CdS in CdS/Sb2Se3 device, involving controllable Cl incorporation in CdS films by
systematically varying the concentration of NH4Cl in the CBD precursor solution from 1 to 8 mM. Structural and
electrical characterizations are correlated with advanced measurements of Scanning Kelvin Probe, surface
photovoltage, and atomic force microscopy to understand the impact of Cl incorporation on the properties of CdS
films and CdS/Sb2Se3 devices. The validity of Cl incorporation in the CdS lattice and interdiffusion processes at
the CdS-Sb2Se3 interface is confirmed by secondary ion mass spectrometry analysis. It is demonstrated that
incorporation of 1 mM of NH4Cl, as a Cl source in CBD CdS, can boost the PCE of CdS/Sb2Se3 by ~20 %. With this
approach, we offer new perspectives on the optimization methodology for Cl-based CdS/Sb2Se3 device processing
and complementary understanding of the physiochemistry behind these processes.

Dataset of "Glue-assisted Exfoliation of Two-dimensional Sulfur-rich Niobium Thiophosphate (Nb4P2S21) for Sulfur-equivalent Electrode Study in Lithium Storage"

Two-dimensional (2D) layered thiophosphates have garnered attention for advanced batteries due to their open ionic diffusion channels, high capacity, and unique catalytic properties. However, their potential in energy storage applications remains largely unexplored. In this study, we report for the first time a 2D transition metal thiophosphate (Nb4P2S21) with high sulfur content. Nb4P2S21, synthesized via chemical vapor transport (CVT), is treated as a sulfur-equivalent material with better conductivity than sulfur, suitable for high-capacity lithium storage. The bulk material can be delaminated into high-quality nanoplates via glue-assisted grinding exfoliation, both displaying a layered quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) morphology, which shortens the ion diffusion path and promises enhanced rate performance compared to larger lateral 2D materials. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate that Nb4P2S21 has a direct bandgap of 1.64 eV (HSE06 method), with exfoliated counterparts showing near-infrared (NIR) photoluminescence at 755 nm, broadening potential applications to NIR-based devices. By tuning the working voltage window for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and controlling lithiation product formation, the material exhibits distinct electrochemical characteristics at 0 ~ 2.6 V, 0.5 ~ 2.6 V, 1.0 ~ 2.6 V, and 1.5 ~ 2.6 V. However, sulfur-rich electrodes in carbonate electrolytes demonstrate limited electrochemical potential due to polysulfide formation, leading to detrimental side reactions with carbonate-based electrolytes. Transitioning to ether-based electrolytes improves the initial reversible capacity and Coulombic efficiency of Nb4P2S21 by stabilizing the formed polysulfides. Despite this improvement, the material still mirrors the shuttle effect in lithium-sulfur batteries, diminishing active sulfur and undermining battery integrity. Further EDS and TOF-SIMS analyses of post-cycled electrode materials show significant sulfur loss and precipitation within the electrodes, exacerbating the shuttle effect and causing battery failure. Implementing strategies used in lithium-sulfur batteries, such as introducing polar host catalysts, could enhance the potential of these materials.

Dataset for Machine Learning Assisted Citation Screening for Systematic Reviews

The work "Machine Learning Assisted Citation Screening for Systematic Reviews" explored the problem of citation screening automation using machine-learning (ML) with an aim to accelerate the process of generating systematic reviews. Manual process of citation screening involve two reviewers manually screening the searched studies using a predefined inclusion criteria. If the study passes the "inclusion" criteria, it is included for further analysis or is excluded. As apparant through manual screening process, the work considered citation screening as a binary classification problem whereby any ML classifier could be trained to separate the searched studies into these two classes (include and exclude).

A physiotherapy citation screening dataset was used to test automation approaches and the dataset includes the studies identified for citation screening in an update to the systematic review by Hilfiker et al. The dataset included titles and abstracts (citations) from 31,279 (deduplicated: 25,540) studies identified during the search phase of this SR. These studies were already manually assessed for relevance and labelled by two reviewers into two mutually exclusive labels. The uploaded file consists of 25,540 data samples, with each data sample separated by a new line. It is a tab separated file and the data in it is structured as shown below. This dataset was manually labelled into include and exclude by Hilfiker et al.

Title

PMID

Abstract

Class

MeSH terms (separated by a pipe)

Structured exercise improves physical functioning in women with stages I and II breast cancer: results of a randomized controlled trial.

11157015

Abstract PURPOSE: Self-directed and supervised exercise were compared with usual care in a clinical trial designed to evaluate the effect of structured exercise on physical functioning and other dimensions of health-related quality of life in women with stages I and II breast cancer.
