RoadArrowORIEN: dataset of 6701 images (64x64 pixels) of straight arrow-type road markings and their azimuths

The dataset consisting of 6701 PNG images (64x64 pixels) of straight arrow type road markings with different dimensions and orientations, together with the angle it forms with respect to the vertical axis (azimuth), has been constructed in the framework of the SROADEX project to train a regression neural network to calculate the azimuth of other straight arrows that can be identified in high resolution aerial orthoimages.

The dataset was created by labeling with the labelme tool the straight arrows on orthoimage tesserae of 256x256 pixels. After semantic labeling by drawing an arrow on the orthoimage, the data was automatically processed to calculate the azimuthal angle. The procedure followed is as follows:
1.- The vertices of the generated arrow-shaped polygon have been extracted.
2.- Clusters of nearby points have been generated, with a minimum of 2 points and the cluster with less points and the one with more points has been identified.
3.- For the clusters, the centroid has been generated, preserving the information of the number of vertices that define the cluster.
4.- Then a vector has been generated with origin in the centroid of the arrow with less vertices grouped and as end the centroid with the highest number of vertices.
5.- Finally, the azimuth of this vector with respect to the ordinate axis has been calculated,
The images have been automatically cropped with a constant size of 64x64 pixels taking an extension greater than the occupied of the arrow in the scene.

The shared dataset consists of a compressed file with the images and a text file in CSV format with the names of the images and the normaliced [0..1] Azimutal angles of the straight arrows contained in the images.

Marlim R3D (MR3D) - The full azimuth CSEM dataset

Marlim R3D (MR3D) is an open-source realistic geoelectric model for CSEM simulations of the post-salt turbiditic reservoirs at the Brazilian offshore margin.
Here we make available the complete CSEM dataset, with inline and broadside geometries, of two simulated surveys on the MR3D model. We computed the six electromagnetic field components (Ex, Ey, Ez, Hx, Hy, and Hz) at six frequencies in the 0.125–1.25 Hz range.
The full azimuth CSEM data were simulated for a total of 500 receivers located on the irregular seafloor of the MR3D model. For each receiver, sources were situated along 45 tow lines having a spacing of 1000 m. Towlines were positioned along 25
EW lines and 20 NS lines for each receiver. Figure~\ref{fig:mapa} shows the receiver positions and towlines superimposed on the bathymetry of the MR3D model.
Each EW towline has a length of 42 km, and each NS towline has a length of 47 km. Both directions are extending 11 km away from the first and last receivers at each towline. Sources positions were spaced at 100 m along each towline for a total of 201 source positions along each towline. The source is a 275 m long horizontal electrical dipole (HED), oriented parallel to the towline.
The output dataset was generated in the current industry netCDF-based data format.
You can follow the updates of the marlim project at:
https://www.researchgate.net/project/Marlim-R3D-A-realistic-model-for-mCSEM-simulations

Conceptual illustration of particle emission in azimuth and relationship to elliptic flow and collectivity

This set of images represents, in a schematic and simplified manner, the various scenarios for particle emission in high-energy interactions (heavy ions but also others). Individual images can be used alone or also in an animation explanatory sequence. The various versions are:

The file `1-initialConditionIncoherentColored` shows how a number of particle-emitting sources will ultimately populate azimuth uniformly in case they emit incoherently.

The file `2-initialConditionCoherentColored` shows how particle-emitting sources might generate a polar pattern in their particle emission provided any kind of overlap (e.g. strong interaction) leads to coherent emission.

The file `3-initialConditionVelocityField` illustrates the concept of a common velocity field at the edges of the system. This is to be used, for instance, in a transition slide in which a speaker introduces some various limiting options of which entities actually have a common velocity.

The file `4-initialConditionMassOrdering` illustrates the possibility that hadrons are emitted in a common velocity field, leading to mass-ordered elliptic flow such as the one observed at low transverse momentum in heavy-ion collisions. This serves to directly illustrate the patterns that are numerically created by e.g. the blast-wave model or the Cooper-Frye formalism.

The file `5-initialConditionCoalescenceNCQ` illustrates the possibility that quarks are in a common velocity field just prior to hadronization via coalescence, leading to baryon/meson grouping of anisotropic flow.

The file `6-combined-incoherent-vs-ncq` illustrates the incoherent scenario vs the coalescence scenario without the polar graph for simplicity.

The file `7-combined-incoherent-vs-massordering-vs-ncq` illustrates the incoherent scenario, the mass ordering and the coalescence scenarios without the polar graph for simplicity.

Global dataset of Sentinel-1 azimuth shift values and derived horizontal displacements from COMET LiCSAR system

For this dataset, we were exploiting spatio-temporal behaviour of side-products of coregistration of Sentinel-1 radar images, that were generated in last couple of years, within the COMET LiCSAR system for computing interferograms. These side-products are sub-pixel (azimuth) offsets, allowing for a very precise match of the images (up to a 0.0005 pixels). We have shown that by a proper approach, these offsets can be used as measurements of large-scale horizontal motion - in our case, using 250x250 km resolution cells, we aimed to measure motion of tectonic plates. Our measurements are fitting well to the latest ITRF2014 plate motion model, although the E component contains an extra overall shift, not explained at the moment of sharing the outputs.

The sub-pixel offsets (result of intensity cross correlation and spectral diversity estimation, w.r.t. precise orbit ephemerides) were corrected for solid Earth tides and ionospheric phase advance, using external models. The code shared within the dataset includes the correction functions. The data contains both original and corrected values. Also, the data contains ITRF2014 plate motion values.

The dataset contains outputs from both COMET LiCSAR frame units and their decomposition into N, E motion vectors, as well as some metadata on the frames that are necessary for the reprocessing if needed.

The datasets are part of a project exploring the onset of phase transitions, the development of microstrain and the lattice parameters during fast compression rates, resembling those during e.g. propagation seismic shockwaves and large body impacts.
