Github BPMN Artifacts Dataset 2021
<p>Information about 327,436 potential BPMN artifacts identified in all public Github repositories referenced in the <a href="https://ghtorrent.org/">GHTorrent</a> dump from <a href="https://ghtorrent-downloads.ewi.tudelft.nl/mysql/mysql-2021-03-06.tar.gz">March 2021</a>. </p> <p>The data file is in line-delimited JSON format, with each row containing an array with the following six elements:</p> <ol> <li>GHTorrent project ID</li> <li>GitHub user name</li> <li>GitHub repository name</li> <li>GitHub branch name</li> <li>Path to file inside repository</li> <li>SHA1 hash of the file's contents</li> </ol> <p>To get a list of retrievable URLs, use e.g. the following Python one-liner:</p> <pre><code class="language-bash">python3 -c 'import json; import sys; print(*[f"https://raw.githubusercontent.com/{u}/{r}/{b}/{f}" for _, u, r, b, f, _ in map(json.loads, sys.stdin)], sep="\n")' < bpmn-artifacts.jsonl > urls.txt</code></pre> <p>(using the hashes to filter out duplicates first is recommended though)</p>

Textual Process Descriptions and Corresponding BPMN Models
<p>This dataset provides an archive with 24 textual process descriptions in different granularities, each with 8-11 BPMN models, that represent possible solutions for modelling the description. Each BPMN model has an assigned score of 0..5 which describes how good a human expert deemed the solution.</p>
Study Data: Obtaining Semi-Formal Models from Qualitative Data: From Interviews into BPMN Models in User-Centered Design Processes
<p>This dataset (Data.zip) contains the raw data of a user study on the investigation of transforming think aloud interviews into BPMN models. All information on how to use the data are provide in the SPSS files and as a readme file. This transformation is executed following a manual additionally provided in Documents.zip. For the training phase, a website was used provided in Website.zip including Screenshots for simpler re-use. Further information are also included as readme file in the zip container.</p> <p>Main research question answered is in how far the manual reduces interpretation and variance in the created models. </p>
Modeling software processes from different domains using SPEM and BPMN notations: An experience report of teaching software processes
<p>In a current application development scenario in different environments, technologies and contexts, such as IoT, Blockchain, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing, there is a need for particular solutions for domain-specific software development processes. The proper definition of software processes requires understanding the involved teams and organization’s particularities and specialized technical knowledge in Software Engineering. Although it is an essential part of Software Engineering, many university curricula do not dedicate as much effort to teach software processes, focusing more on the basic principles of Software Engineering, such as requirements, architecture and programming languages. Another important aspect of software processes is modeling. The modeling of a software process provides a basis for managing, automating and supporting the software process improvement. In this context, teaching software process modeling becomes challenging, mainly due to the great emphasis on theory and few practices. This work presents an experience report teaching the definition and modeling of software processes in different domains. We applied in the discipline of software processes a practice for defining and modeling processes in various application domains, such as: IoT, cloud, mobile, critical systems, self-adaptive systems, machine learning, blockchain and games. The processes were modeled in the Software & Systems Process Engineering Metamodel (SPEM) and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) notations based on references from the literature for each domain. We evaluated the process modeling practice with the SPEM and BPMN in 3 classes of the software processes discipline and compared the use of the two notations applied to the different domains. We concluded that the modeling tool and the maturity in the domain are essential for the excellent performance of the process.</p>
BPMN, SPEM e Essence no contexto da Modelagem de Processos de Software: uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura
<p>Um modelo de processo de software é uma representação abstrata de um processo que o descreve em alguma perspectiva particular. A literatura apresenta uma variedade de propostas para a modelagem de processos, cada qual oferecendo uma diferente visão sobre o processo a ser modelado. Este estudo apresenta uma revisão sistemática da literatura com o objetivo de comparar três especificações para modelagem de processos de software: BPMN,SPEM e Essence. O estudo busca mapear suas características, entender as vantagens e desvantagens, identificar as tendências de pesquisa, bem como listar o ferramental de suporte na sua implementação. Resultados parciais são apresentados a partir de 40 artigos selecionados no processo de revisão.</p>
