Topic Model for English Wikipedia's Biographies with list of all 1.8M articles linked to Wikidata
<p>A Genism LDA Topic Model of English Wikipedia biographical articles with list of all 1.8M articles, and some associated Wikidata information</p> <p>The model has 150 Topics.</p> <p>This model was developed in the process of isolating a set of visual arts biographical articles, as described in "Clowns in the Visual Artists: Topic Modeling Wikipedia and Wikidata" in the Spring 2022 issue of <em>Art Documentation - </em><a href="https://doi.org/10.1086/719999">https://doi.org/10.1086/719999</a></p> <p>Because names, nationalities, and birthdays are so prominent in biographies, the stopwords list removed 170,000 names, surnames, city names, place names, countries, days, months and other time related words (https://github.com/mandiberg/Names-Surnames-and-Countries-for-Stopwords). We also directly removed each article subject’s given and surname, which were almost always the most frequently occurring words in any given article. Otherwise, the model just produced topics based on nationality, and common names and surnames.</p> <p><strong>Files:</strong></p> <p>all_enwiki_bios_from_wikidata.csv<br> The list of all Wikidata items for humans with an enwiki page (e.g biographical article) was extracted from Wikidata JSON dump; list includes gender, occupation, and nationality. This was joined with the converted plaintext from an English Wikipedia dump. This data was downloaded in March 2021.</p> <p>Wikipedia Biographies LDA Topic Model human readable summary.csv<br> A human readable file with the 150 topics ranked by count of articles per topic from the 1.8M corpus. The most popular topics have categorical descriptions of the occupations of each cluster. Some are marked as not an occupation cluster. </p> <p>BoW_corpus.mm*<br> model_lda_full_Sep2_150Tv2*<br> These six files comprise the topic model. Aḥmad b. ‘Alî SHA’RÂWÎ</a><sup>1</sup> Anṣârî (d. A.H. 973), who completed his work on 15th Rajab , 952 [=5 February 1566], at Cairo. See Ḥ. Ḳh. v. 339 sqq. ; Zeitschr. d. Deutsch. morgenl. Ges. xxi. 273; Aumer, Hdss. Münch. 184; Cat. Mus. Brit. 179. This part begins with Abu’l-‘Abbâs Aḥmad Badawî (sixth century).</p> <p>The last name is that of ‘Alî العياشى (tenth century).</p> <p>To these طبقات the author added a list of Shaikhs of his own (the Shâfi’ite) sect, each of whom he characterizes in a few words. This list is confined to the less known names, as is stated at the end:</p> <p>فكل هؤلاء علماء عاملين (sic) غير مشهورين بالعبادة و الزهد و الورع فذكرناهم لننبه على فضلهم رجاء الخير و الترحم عليهم و الاقتداء بهم واما من اشتهر بالعبادة و الزهد و الورع كالشيخ ابى اسحق الشيرازى و الامام الغزالى و الامام الرافعى و الامام النووى فاكتفينا بشهرتهم.</p> <p>The original of this MS. was finished by ‘Alî Ḥamawî, a disciple of Sha’râwî, on 26th Sha’bân, 954. ḤANNA MAUṢILÎ, a Chaldæan priest, in various parts of western Europe, and in Peru (الپیرّوه) and Mexico (ينكيدنيا) , during A.D. 1668-1683 ; followed by a historical account of Peru, which was compiled during a prolonged stay in that county.</p> <p>After the prologue (ديباجة), which begins: الحمد لله الذى خلق البرايا بحكمته , the subject of the work is introduced as follows : كتاب سياحة الخورى ايلياس ابن قسيس حنا الموصلى من عيلة بيت عمّون الكلدانى .</p> <p>The author set out from Baghdâd, A.D. 1668, on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and afterwards went to Europe by Iskenderûn and Venice. In A.D. 1675 he started for South America, Whence he returned to Spain in 1683. He appears to have been still resident in Spain when he completed the present work.</p> <p>The account of Peru (foll. 61 sqq.) refers to the conquest and the early history of that country, and was compiled from Spanish books. It is divided into seventeen sections (فصل) . The last of these contains a report presented by Padre Francisco Romero (روميرو) , of the order of St. Augustine, a missionary in the West Indies, to Charles II., King of Spain , A.D. 1693.</p> <p>Well written. This copy was transcribed in the East, and is dated 20th Kânûn I., 1751. The original copy was finished at Puerto de Santa Maria in Spain, A.D. 1699. This appears from the colophon, which runs as follows (fol.138): قد تكمل هذا الكتاب بعون الله الوهاب فى پورط صانتا ماريّا التى هى مقابل لمينة كادس على يد الحقير الكوالير اندراوس ابن مقدسى عبدالله الكلدانى فى اول يوم شهر ادار المبارك سنة الف و ستمائة و تسعة و تسعين مسيحية فى اول نساخته.</p> <p>و نساخته الثانية فى شهر كانون الاول عشرين يوم فى سنة ١٧٥١مسيحية و المجد لله دائمًا.</p> <p>The last three pages give a list of the contents.</p> <p>At the end of the book is a note in the handwriting of شمّاس كوركيس , stating that he paid to مقدسى شماس حنا , for copying this volume, twenty-nine بغدادية , or three and a half per quire. On the title-page is a note of purchase, dated A.D. 1786.</p> <p>There are also written on it the followings words, in the Eatrangelâ character: بسم الله تيمّنًا و تبارك بذكره القديم.</p> <p> </p>

Ḥamzah Kisâ’î</a>, is modern. His history comprises the following ‘’Prophets’’ : Âdam (fol. 11), Idrîs (fol. 42), Nûḥ (fol.44), Hûd (fol.54), Ṣâliḥ (fol.62), Ibrâhîm (fol.79) Ya’ḳûb and Yûsuf (fol.101), Aiyûb (fol. 125), Shu’aib (fol.136), Mûsa (fol.143), Yûsha’ (fol.180), Ilyâs (fol.182), al-Yasa’ (fol.188), Dâ’ûd (fol.190), Sulaimân (fol.215), Yûnus (fol. 256), Zakarîyâ , Maryam, and ‘Îsa (fol.265) . This work is of frequent occurrence. The text of it appears to vary much in different MSS. Several titles are also given to it. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashf_al-Zunun">Ḥ. Kh</a>. mentions it under خلق الدنيا , a title apparently derived from the account of the creation, which precedes the history of Adam (cf. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashf_al-Zunun">Ḥ. Kh</a>. ii. 23, under بدء الدنيا ).</p> <p>The exordium runs in this copy as elsewhere; but the words which immediately follow it vary here slightly from the <a href="https://www.fihrist.org.uk/catalog/work_3070">Bodleian</a> and <a href="https://www.digitale-sammlungen.de/en/view/bsb00008269?page=192">Munich</a> MSS. Then follows an account of the events which happened after his ascension. It ends abruptly on fol. 281, where there is a lacuna. The rest of the MS. gives the history of St. George (جرجيس) , and concludes as follows:</p> <p>و هذا ما كان من حديثهم و الله اعلم بذلك</p> <p>Plainly written. Kh. ii. 71.</p> <p>The author of the present abridgment, whose name is not found in it, seems to know no other contents of the بهجة الاسرار than the biography of ‘Abd al-ḳâdir.</p> <p>After the introduction, which begins: الحمدلله نحمده و نستعينه و نعوذ بالله من شرور انفسنا وسيّآت اعمالنا , he proceeds to say : اما بعد فهذه جمل من كتاب مناقب الشيخ العارف العالم العامل الربانى عبد القادر الكيلانى ..... اختصرتها من كتاب الشيخ الفقيه الامام المقرى نور الدين ابى الحسن على بن يوسف بن جرير بن معضاد بن فضل الشافعى اللخمى عرف بالشطنونى الذى سمّاه بهجة الاسرار و معدن الانوار فى مناقب الشيخ عبدالقادر رضه محذوفة الاسانيد ليسهل النظر فيها و الوقوف فى الزمن اليسير عليها الخ.</p> <p>Conclusion: تمت تمام شد كتاب بهجة الاسرار الخ.</p> <p>Fol. 156 contains two verses of RABÎ’AH ‘Adawîyah (d.
