Using Blender EEVEE for the Generation of Real Time Background Plate in Green Screen Movie Shots

This talk will introduce you to the use of blender EEVEE for green screen shots for a short movie. Green (and blue) screen shots are notoriously difficult to get the lighting condition right, since the image from the camera is dominated by the bright green background. It is very helpful on the set to see in real time the final composition of the scene with the proper background to make adjustments of the camera and the lighting position and the lighting intensity and color.
For the shots a large volume mocap solution (Optitrack) was used to track the movie camera (Arri Alexa) and the transformation data was sent to Blender to animate the virtual camera. The previously laser scanned background was rendered in real time in EEVEE. To combine the camera image and the rendered image a dedicated live-keying hardware was used. The described set-up was used in connection with the research project Virtually Real – Aesthetics and Perception of Virtual Spaces in Film by the Zurich University of the Arts and the University of Bern, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Tutorial video for: A toolbox for the retrodeformation and muscle reconstruction of fossil specimens in Blender

Accurate muscle reconstructions can offer new information on the anatomy of fossil organisms and are also important for biomechanical analysis (multibody dynamics and finite element analysis). For the sake of simplicity, muscles are often modeled as point-to-point strands or frustra (cut off cones) in biomechanical models. However, there are cases in which it is useful to model the muscle morphology in 3D, to better examine the effects of muscle shape and size. This is especially important for fossil analyses, where muscle force is estimated from the reconstructed muscle morphology (rather than based on data collected in vivo). The two main aims of this paper are as follows. First, we created a new interactive tool in the free open access software Blender to enable interactive 3D modeling of muscles. This approach can be applied to both palaeontological and human biomechanics research to generate muscle force magnitudes and lines of action for finite element analysis. Second, we provide a guide on how to use existing Blender tools to reconstruct distorted or incomplete specimens. This guide is aimed at palaeontologists but can also be used by anatomists working with damaged specimens or to test functional implication of hypothetical morphologies.

Charger for the Islamic market - Blender version

Porcelain charger for the Islamic market, 19th C CE, China, now in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art. More information at https://collections.artsmia.org/art/96703/charger-for-the-islamic-market-china Inspired by @nebulousflynn 's 'Dish with Sailing-ship Design,' which is made from two public domain images ( https://skfb.ly/6QSq6 ) released by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This version of the charger is built in Blender from the still images; the charger's profile is from its profile photo, and the textures are from single top and bottom photos. Pollution Dispersion in the city of Augsburg in Blender

This video presents the current state of traffic pollution in the city of Augsburg, Germany. This is a high resolution output of synthesizing satellite imagery with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results via Blender software. The demonstration of road traffic air pollution is based on real data from local air quality measurements. Also, the video shows the situation at a bus shelter which is located on a traffic median in the middle of two opposite roads where several people are waiting every day. Pollutant concentrations are quite high and become more diluted as they rise higher. Then, a solution of planting a series of four trees along the median and next to the station is presented. Planting trees is an effective strategy for passive mitigation of personal exposure to pollution. The concentrations of pollution in front and to the left of the station are considerably lower, making people inhale lower concentrations of pollution on a daily basis. The use of appropriate tools for producing animation in presenting scientific outputs is an important step in effectively promoting environmental strategies. Moreover, there is simplicity in presenting the existing situation and alternative possible scenarios in great accuracy and analysis. The visualization tools used to disseminate this type of scientific outputs are now a necessity in order to sensitize people and to demand the implementation of environmental measures that have as a principle the protection of their health.

Data from: The walking dead: blender as a tool for palaeontologists with a case study on extinct arachnids

This paper serves two roles. First, it acts as an introduction to Blender, an open-source computer graphics program, which can be of utility to paleontologists. To lessen the software's otherwise steep learning curve, a step-by-step guide to create an idealized reconstruction of a fossil in the form of a three-dimensional model in Blender, or to use the software to render results from 'virtual paleontology' techniques, is provided as an online supplemental data file. Second, here we demonstrate the use of Blender with a case study on the extinct trigonotarbid arachnids. We report the limb articulations of members of the Devonian genus Palaeocharinus on the basis of exceptionally preserved fossils from the Rhynie Cherts of Scotland. We use these newly reported articulations to create a Blender model, and draw comparisons with the gait of extant arachnids to produce as accurate a representation of the trigonotarbid flexing its limbs and walking as possible, presented in additional online supplemental data files. Knowledge of the limb articulations of trigonotarbid arachnids also allows us to discuss their functional morphology: trigonotarbids' limbs and gait were likely comparable to extant cursorial spiders, but lacked some innovations seen in more derived arachnids.

Application of blender speed control technology in the processing of salak pondoh into coffee in Sibolong Hamlet

Dukuh Sibolong consists of nine RTs with a total population of 672. Based
on the information our team got from Mr. Suharno as the head of the hamlet.
The hamlet has several groups of informal community organizations such as
youth organizations, PKK women. The majority of the population of Sonyo
Hamlet are Muslim and have a livelihood as laborers, but there are also those
who work as entrepreneurs because the geographical location of Sibolong
Hamlet is located in the highlands. Actually, the hamlet of Sibolong has
natural potential in the form of Salak Pondoh. One of these has just been
processed into salak syrup. The potential of salak is managed by Mr. Suharno.
Mr. Suharno has a market opportunity of up to 600 products per month.
However, this opportunity brings consequences and problems, namely the
wrong seed grinding machine is not owned. Information about some of the
problems faced by the zalacca processors must of course be addressed as soon
as possible as a solution for developing the zalacca processing business. The
team that proposes service as part of the community who happens to be
involved in the world of education, feels compelled to help provide solutions
to the problems faced by Mr. Suharno's salak processing business. Through
this proposed program of science and technology activities and based on the
needs analysis that has been carried out, the service team tries to offer
solutions to these problems with a touch of science and technology, namely
through the main activity of designing a salak seed grinder to make salak
coffee. The solosi is used to improve the processing of salak coffee.
