OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS Managers 1.0

The Guidelines specify the interoperability layer between Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) and the OpenAIRE infrastructure. The information interchange is based on the Common European Research Information Format (CERIF) data model, the CERIF XML exchange format, and the OAI-PMH protocol. The Guidelines are intended mainly for implementers and administrators of CRIS who plan to communicate research information to OpenAIRE. OpenAIRE (openaire.eu) is the European infrastructure enabling researchers to comply with the European Union requirements for Open Access to research results. OpenAIRE collects metadata from a variety of data sources: publication repositories, data archives and CRIS across Europe and beyond. Interoperability guidelines are defined for each type of source. CERIF is a standard data model for research information and a recommendation by the European Union to its Member States. The custody of CERIF has been entrusted by the European Union to euroCRIS (eurocris.org), an international not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the interoperability of CRIS.

DSpace-CRIS: How to Bring Repositories and CRIS/RIMS Together

CRIS/RIMS (Current Research Information Systems / Research Information Management Systems) are becoming more and more relevant to monitor research activities and outputs, highlighting strengths and weaknesses of institutional performance and providing insight for budget allocation, collaboration and funding opportunities, etc.

Proprietary CRIS are expensive and often compete with Institutional Repositories, draining resources and closing information behind barriers, contrary to the OAI principles.

DSpace-CRIS is a free open-source extension of DSpace, a solution to oppose this trend and reassign the prominent role that Institutional Repositories need to play in the scholarly ecosystem. It extends the scope of the repository supporting a broader range of information typically managed in CRIS/RIMS. Originated in 2009 from a collaboration with the University of Hong Kong, the main characteristic of DSpace-CRIS is a flexible and extensible data model, which allows the creation and management of any kind of entities (such as researchers, organizations, projects, etc.) and the relations among those entities, besides bibliometric, collaboration networks, statistics.

Kerndatensatz Forschung v1.3

OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS Managers v1.2.0

OpenAIRE Guidelines for Institutional and Thematic Repository Managers v4.0.1

CrIS PANs megacity dataset for São Paulo and Lagos

The COVID-19 pandemic perturbed air pollutant emissions as cities shut down worldwide. Peroxyacyl nitrates (PANs) are important tracers of photochemistry that are formed through the oxidation of non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs) in the presence of nitrogen oxide radicals (NOx = NO + NO2). We use satellite measurements of free tropospheric PANs from the S-NPP Cross-Track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) over eight of the world's megacities: Mexico City, Beijing, Los Angeles, Tokyo, São Paulo, Delhi, Lagos, and Karachi. We quantify the seasonal cycle of PANs over these megacities and find seasonal maxima in PANs correspond to seasonal peaks in local photochemistry. CrIS is used to explore changes in PANs in response to the COVID-19 lockdowns. Statistically significant changes to PANs occurred over two megacities: Los Angeles (PAN decreased) and Beijing (PAN increased). Our analysis suggests that large perturbations in NOx may not result in significant declines in NOx export potential of megacities.

TROPESS CrIS-SNPP L2 Methane for Forward Stream, Summary Product V1 (TRPSYL2CH4CRSFS) at GES DISC
The TROPESS CrIS-SNPP L2 Methane for Forward Stream, Summary Product contains the vertical distribution of the retrieved atmospheric state of methane (CH4), and formal uncertainties measured by the CrIS instrument on the Suomi-NPP satellite. The forward stream standard product is global for the time period from 2021-02-01 to 2021-05-21, when the CrIS-SNPP processing was discontinued. The NASA TRopospheric Ozone and Precursors from Earth System Sounding (TROPESS) project, uses an optimal estimation algorithm, known as the MUlti-SpEctra, MUlti-SpEcies, Multi-SEnsors (MUSES).The data files are written in the netCDF version 4 file format, and each file contains one day of data. The data have a spatial resolution of 14 km (CrIS nadir FOV), and are reported at 26 vertical levels from the surface to 0.1 hPa. The principal investigator for the TROPESS project is Kevin W. Bowman.
