Database - A Calculus of Tracking: Theory and Practice
<p>A manually curated sample (Top 100 Alexa domains only) of a OpenWPM database obtained from Princeton Web Census (https://webtransparency.cs.princeton.edu/webcensus/). The sample is used to instantiate the model for the paper "<a href="https://petsymposium.org/2021/files/papers/issue2/popets-2021-0027.pdf">A Calculus of Tracking: Theory and Practice</a>" to appear in PETS 2021.</p> <p>Accepted manuscript: https://petsymposium.org/2021/files/papers/issue2/popets-2021-0027.pdf</p> <p>GitHub page: https://github.com/giorgioditizio/calculus_of_tracking</p> <p> </p>
Simulation data and software scripts used in calculus of ∆36 signature from EMAC clumped O2 isotope-inclusive model
<p>This publication contains simulation data and software scripts for calculating quantities related to clumped oxygen isotope signature (∆36) derivation, as described in the "static" framework of Yeung‍ et‍ al. (2016), hereinafter "Y16") and subsequently used in Yeung‍ et‍ al.‍ (2019) analysis. We provide the output of the 1950–2011 transient simulation with EMAC model with explicit "dynamic" simulation of ∆36 (i.e. 18O18O isotopologues undergoing transport, mixing and O(3P)-mediated isotope equilibration) to demonstrate the importance of several assumptions/simplifications involved in the static calculus.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please refer to .README.pdf for details.</p>

Image Enhancement with Fractional Calculus
<p>The video included in this repository shows some examples of image enhancement by exploiting fractioal calculus. The input images (showed on the left part of the video) are those of the dataset BSIMAGE downloadable from https://zenodo.org/records/13903974. The output image (on the right part of the video) are obtained by an algorithm exploiting both integer- and fractional-order image gradients, described in the paper cited below.</p>

Establishing a new standard of care for calculus using trials with randomized student allocation
<p>Calculus, the study of change in processes and systems, serves as the foundation of many STEM disciplines. Traditional, lecture-based calculus instruction presents a persistent barrier for students seeking STEM degrees, limits access to STEM professions, and blocks their potential to address society's challenges. A large-scale pragmatic trial with randomized student allocation was conducted to compare two calculus instruction styles: active student engagement (treatment condition) versus traditional, lecture-based instruction (control condition). A sample of 811 U.S. university students was studied across 32 sections taught by 19 instructors over three semesters at a large U.S. Hispanic-Serving Institution. Large effect sizes were consistently measured for student learning outcomes in the treatment condition, which demonstrated a new standard for calculus instruction and increased opportunities for completion of STEM degrees.</p>

A large intestinal calculus from the Pleistocene of Paraguay: characterization by physical and chemical techniques
<p>All data in this study are raw, with no modifications such as baseline adjustments, noise reduction filters, or other alterations to the spectra, signals, or images. The X-ray fluorescence data, exported using Bruker software in txt format, are organized in the EDXRF folder. This data spans five regions and is presented in two columns: energy in KeV and intensity, all found in the EDXRF.zip file. Raman data, also in txt format, include 10 representative spectra chosen and exported using BWSpec® software. These spectra feature Raman Shifts (cm-1) and the intensities of the Raman bands, accessible in the Raman.zip file. Similarly, the 10 representative infrared responses by FTIR are in txt format, with data exported via the IRAffinity-1S software, showing wavenumber and intensity in the FTIR.zip file. The diffraction pattern data, detailing diffraction angle (2 theta deg) and intensity, is available in txt and .xrdml formats within the XRD.zip file. Microscale images from SEM EDS are provided in png format, comprising 7 images of different areas at varying magnifications, located in the SEM-EDS.zip file. Additionally, the computed tomography images, along with the necessary auxiliary files, are stored in the Tomography.zip file.</p>
