Data Associated with Chemical Cartography with APOGEE: Two-process Parameters and Residual Abundances for 288,789 Stars from Data Release 17

Stellar abundance measurements are subject to systematic errors that induce extra scatter and artificial correlations in elemental abundance patterns. We derive empirical calibration offsets to remove systematic trends with surface gravity log(g) in 17 elemental abundances of 288,789 evolved stars from the SDSS APOGEE survey. We fit these corrected abundances as the sum of a prompt process tracing core-collapse supernovae and a delayed process tracing Type Ia supernovae, thus recasting each star's measurements into the amplitudes A_cc and A_Ia and the element-by-element residuals from this two-parameter fit. Here we present the log(g)-calibrated abundances, fit parameters, process amplitudes, and element-by-element abundance residuals of 288,789 stars (310,427 spectra) in APOGEE DR17 that accompany the paper.

calibration_values_final.dat contains all derived calibration offsets, including the grids of log(g) calibration offsets and zero-point offsets for two-process model analysis. The first five rows of this catalog are reproduced in Table 2 of the paper.

logg_calib_example.ipynb is a Jupyter notebook containing Python code to load calibration_values_final.dat, extract the log(g) calibration offsets for specific element, and apply calibration offsets to 10 sample stars.

2process_residual_abund_catalog_final.fits is the catalog of 310,427 APOGEE DR17 spectra (288,789 unique stars) containing calibrated abundances, two-process fit parameters, and abundance residuals. A full listing of columns in this catalog is given in Table 5 of the paper.

catalog_examples.ipynb is a Jupyter notebook containing Python code to load 2process_residual_abund_catalog_final.fits, cross match with other catalogs (using AstroNN and the APOGEE DR17 Globular Cluster Value-Added Catalog as examples), and make some example plots utilizing the cross-matched data.

Wang, F. Organizing the fragmented landscape of multidisciplinary product development: A mapping of approaches, processes, methods and tools from the scientific literature - Searchable cartographies

This document gathers cartographies for the development of mechatronic products, cyber-physical systems and smart products. The three cartographies presented are associated with an open-access article – see the citation box below – and differ from the ones provided in the article in that they are searchable, which makes it easier to pinpoint references, concepts and techniques. This document comprises a legend, the cartographies and a list of associated references.

To contextualize the cartographies, the integration of digital and connectivity technologies in new products can invite companies to adapt their development. Organizing the fragmented landscape of multidisciplinary product development to help companies navigate the dense scientific literature corpus is a first step in supporting them in doing so. Multidisciplinary product development can be investigated by analyzing specific types of products that deal with both software and hardware development and can be referred to as cyber-physical systems, mechatronics, and smart products and systems in the literature. To support their development, 236 “concepts and techniques” (an expression that encompasses approaches, processes, methods and tools) were identified from 167 scientific papers through an extensive literature review and organized based on a four-level model paired with a decision tree. The mapping of the sorted concepts and techniques made it possible to generate graphical representations called “cartographies.” These cartographies represent a database of concepts and techniques for multidisciplinary product development and serve to support companies in their transformation from the product development perspective by providing them with a general overview of the related literature.

DONNEES - Stage Cartographie des risques sismiques

FRANCAIS

ENGLISH

This repository contains the data (shapefile, videos) used during an internship on seismic risk mapping. You can check the rest of the documents here : https://github.com/berenice-lm/stage-M2-Cartographie-des-risques-sismiques.git

The project involves creating a readable, interactive, multi-scale map for firefighters, based on earthquake data estimated by the BRGM. The objective is to quickly provide risk managers with a map that can help them act effectively in the field while awaiting the return of on-site data.

The primary goal of the internship was to gather the firefighters' cartographic needs (workshops, interviews, etc.). This was followed by a map creation phase, with special attention given to cartographic generalization (how to adapt the data at each scale to make the map readable) to avoid disorienting users, which could be especially detrimental in a situation requiring rapid response. A map evaluation phase, using an eye-tracker to monitor users' gaze, then allowed us to determine whether the proposed map met their expectations.

The next step of the internship would be to automate the creation of this type of map to produce a powerful tool for firefighters in just a few minutes.
