This dataset summarizes land protection, conservation prioritization layer scores, and human demographics within New England communities, defined as census tracts. This dataset was created to identify disparities in land protection according to metrics of social marginalization and assess how incorporating environmental justice criteria into land conservation prioritization systems might change conservation priorities.
Urban Redevelopment by Census Tract in New York City (2000 -2020)
<p>The annual urban redevelopment map for NYC was produced using the classification method proposed in this experiment to highlight the spatial and temporal distribution of urban reconstructions. The time-series gentrification risk maps illustrate areas that have faced gentrification risk since 2000. The data was aggregated to the Census tract level for displaying a visually friendly result. The raw building-level data is also provided.</p>
Measures of urban form and mobility energy use indices for each census tract in the United States
<p>This dataset contains data on urban form (the configuration of the built environment) for each census tract in the United States, encompassing density (destination access), land use diversity (entropy), road network properties, road network capacity relative to the surrounding population, and public transit access. Metrics are measured around the centroid of each census tract in multiple given radii. The data also contain other publicly available metrics for each census tract that may be helpful, such as each tract's associated city, zipcode, and county name, area and water area, and centroid coordinates. Certain measures resemble those available in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencies' Smart Location database or were derived from them, while others were compiled using additional data sources and the statistical model presented in the associated main article. Specifically, the data presented here contain travel energy use indices for each census tract, reflecting the estimated difference in daily land-based mobility energy use per capita relative to the baseline (the U.S. average) as a result of that environment's particular urban form. </p>

A complete set of Census 2000 TIGER/Line files includes all counties and statistically equivalent entities in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas. The Census TIGER data base represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts. However, each county-based TIGER/Line file is designed to stand alone as an independent data set or the files can be combined to cover the whole Nation. The Census 2000 TIGER/Line files consist of line segments representing physical features and governmental and statistical boundaries. The boundary information in the TIGER/Line files are for statistical data collection and tabulation purposes only; their depiction and designation for statistical purposes does not constitute a determination of jurisditional authority or rights of ownership or entitlement. The Census 2000 TIGER/Line files do NOT contain the Census 2000 urban areas which have not yet been delineated. The files contain information distributed over a series of record types for the spatial objects of a county. This product provides detailed information about the satellite-based data on artificial light at night (ALAN). The Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (S-NPP) Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Day/Night Band (DNB) nighttime lights (NTL) product (VNP46A4, DOI: 10.5067/VIIRS/VNP46A4.001 ) in NASA’s Black Marble suite is used to derive annual summary of ALAN levels throughout the CONUS at both county and tract level for the period of 2012-2020. The PI Dr. Qian Xiao is a member of NASA Heath and Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (HAQAST).

Normalized First Street Census-Tract Data V1.3
<p>Normalized 2020 and 2050 First Street flood risk data aggregated at the census-tract level. A lower number indicates less risk (0 is minimum) and a higher number indicates more risk (1 is maximum). The normalization process subtracts the mean from the local value and divides it by the standard deviation: ((tract_value - overall mean) / stand_dev).
