Carbon Price Scenarios: Projecting prices for emission certificates
<p>This dataset consists of three different carbon price development scenarios. Each is represented by two growth rates which results in a total of 6 time series. The time frame is from 2020 to 2050. The units of the values are given in € / t CO₂. All values are nominal.</p> <p>Overall, it should be noted that an estimate of the development of CO2 prices in the german nEHS and EU-ETS is subject to great uncertainty due to the major influence of regulatory intervention, a less liquid market towards 2030 and a lack of markets after 2030.</p> <p>The data provided is delivered in frictionless data format (see 2024-03-25_metadata_carbon-price-scenarios.package.json) and can be accessed using the frictionless software (https://frictionlessdata.io/).</p>
Example of Force Digital Calibration Certificate used in ComTraForce 18SIB08 project to demonstrate Digital Twin concept
<p>Force Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC) was developed in the frameworks of 18SIB08 ComTraForce project. It was used to demonstrate the way of data connection between the physical object (force transducer) and virtual object (Finite Element model) within the developed Digital Twin concept. The developed at PTB v3.1.2 xsd schema was used to convert analog calibration certificate to machine readable XML format. The DCC covers static and continuous calibration processes. Note that the current Force DCC is not a Good Practice example. Please follow further developments of force DCC Good Practice example at https://gitlab.com/ptb/dcc.</p>

Example data from a virtual mass comparison using the Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC) scheme
<p><strong>The example data is an outcome of a project on a fully automated evaluation of a virtual mass comparison using the Digital Calibration </strong><strong>Certificate (DCC) schema.</strong></p> <p>We present the proof of concept for the first fully automated evaluation of a virtual mass comparison. The focus of this comparison is to demonstrate a possibility of digital transformation in metrology using an automated evaluation chain of different tools as well as machine-interpretable files for data transfer and final report. This publication provides the example data being used as input and output of the automated comparison evaluation tool.</p>

<p>The webinar will address the vital topic of new certifications and labels for the renewable, and especially bio-based, economy.</p> <p>Certification and labelling play a crucial role in empowering consumers to make informed and sustainable purchasing decisions by impeding greenwashing and instead providing credible and reliable sustainability information. Furthermore, they facilitate the tracking and traceability of biological and other renewable feedstock throughout value chains, fostering transparency and accountability among stakeholders of the industry. Previous research suggests that just improving the error messages and corresponding documentation can have significantly positive effects. Our work aims at increasing the usability of certificate validation by 1) redesigning the API error messages and the corresponding documentation, and 2) validating the real-world applicability of the redesign by investigating the opinions of 180 IT professionals. We focus on the perceived obstacles, desired ideal form and overall satisfaction. The redesigned documentation exhibits a reliable significant decrease in perceived incompleteness, with a small amount of perceived bloat and tangle. The redesigned documentation, now published on a dedicated website, is preferred by 89% of our study participants.</em></li> </ul> <p>The artifacts accompanying this paper contain three major parts:</p> <ul> <li>The questionnaire used in the main study (described in Sections 3.1 and 3.2 of the paper and mostly present in Appendices A and B of the paper).</li> <li>The anonymized dataset (multiple formats) of all valid questionnaire answers and qualitative coding performed. Perceptions of People Working in IT (extended version) [ACM DTRAP 2020], DOI 10.1145/3419472, more details at https://crocs.fi.muni.cz/public/papers/dtrap2020</li> </ul> <p>The artifacts contain the full experimental setup (as described in Section 2.1 of the paper) and the complete anonymized dataset underlying the evaluation presented in Sections 3 and 4.</p> <p>The experimental setup contains the documents accompanying the task: the informed consent, pre-task questionnaire, task description, trust scales, and the list of questions posed during the post-task interview (all in PDFs). We further include the custom website with certificate validation documentation for the “redesigned” condition (static HTML). While working on the task, participants in the “redesigned” condition could access this website via a link that was in the redesigned error messages. Furthermore, we provide the software with which the participants interacted. It contains the displayed error messages and validated certificates. These things are available both individually and incorporated in a snapshot of a virtual machine used at the experiment (importable directly into VirtualBox).</p> <p>The collected data is presented in a single dataset (SPSS format; you can use PSPP as a free alternative). It includes the analysis syntax files to obtain the numerical results presented in the paper. For each participant, the dataset contains: 1) pre-task questionnaire answers, 2) reported trust ratings, 3) sub-task timing, 4) information on whether they browsed the Internet and 5) the interview codes assigned. Note that we do not publish the interview transcripts to preserve participant privacy.</p>

Reducing pesticides without organic certification? Potentials and limits of an intermediate form of agricultural production
<p><span>A growing number of farmer cooperatives cultivate crops without chemical pesticides, but also without organic certification. How does this intermediate form of agriculture between conventional and organic production function? What are the outcomes of this production form on cropland biodiversity? How does this model contribute to the transition toward more sustainable forms of agriculture? We address these research questions using original data collected in the AgroBioDiv project from the farmers' cooperative "KraichgauKorn" based in the German State of Baden-Württemberg. This cooperative is a collection of conventional farmers, who refrain from pesticide use during cultivation periods for KraichgauKorn grains, with products being produced without pesticide inputs in the growing season. Our study finds higher levels of weed species biodiversity on KGK cereal fields compared to conventional fields, but lower than organic fields. In addition, more endangered wild species monitored by the State of Baden-Württemberg were found on KGK fields than on conventional fields, with organic fields exhibiting the highest presence of endangered flora. We conclude that such kinds of enterprises may indeed contribute substantially to a successful transformation toward sustainable agricultural systems. </span></p>

FUNCERT - Registration dynamics and course certification rates on a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform
<p>The FUNCERT data set describes 1 million course registration events collected over a 2-year period from the MOOC platform FUN (France Université Numérique, fun-mooc.fr). Each registration event is associated with a timestamp and an indication of whether a completion certificate was ultimately awarded. It was used in the referenced manuscript to model the impact of multiple course registrations on certificate rates.</p> <p>The data set is provided as a single file (FUNCERT.csv) with the following fields.</p> <p><strong>Time (min)</strong> The time of the registration event reported in minutes elapsed since the beginning of data collection. The time stamp is reported as a relative time only, not an exact calendar date, to enhance anonymization.</p> <p><strong>User ID</strong> A unique ID number for each user of the platform during this period. The number has been generated specifically for this data set and does not correspond to user ID numbers used within the FUN platform.</p> <p><strong>Course ID</strong> Each of the 140 offered courses is assigned a unique and anonymous ID code. In some cases courses were offered multiple times within the data collection period. The same Course ID is used across multiple instances of the same course.</p> <p><strong>Certificate</strong> A boolean variable set to 1 if the registration event is associated with a course completion certificate. Of 140 offered courses, 91 awarded certificates during the study period.</p> <p><strong>Age</strong> User age in years at the time of registration. Field may be left blank if data was not provided.</p> <p><strong>Gender</strong> User gender as selected from the options m and f. Field may be left blank if data was not provided.</p>
