Climate records for Bulu, Ndian Division, SW Cameroon

<p>The file &lsquo;Bulu-Ndian_Climate_1984-2017.csv&#39; (format: comma-separated values) contains year, month, and day number in the first columns, followed by maximum (&lsquo;<em>maxT</em>&rsquo;, <sup>o</sup>C) and minimum (&lsquo;<em>minT</em>&rsquo;, <sup>o</sup>C) temperatures, volume of evaporated radiometer water (&lsquo;<em>radi</em>&rsquo;, ml/day) and rainfall (&lsquo;<em>rain</em>&rsquo;, mm/day) at Bulu, Ndian Department, SW Cameroon (4<sup>o</sup>55&rsquo;53.47&rdquo; N, 8<sup>o</sup>51&rsquo;32.70&rdquo; E; 51 m elevation [Google Earth]). This location is close to eastern border of Korup National Park, and 7.5 km SW of the town of Mundemba. The station is operated by PAMOL Plantations Plc, Cameroon. Readings were taken manually at 07:00 h each day, a record of the previous 24 hours. The date entered into the file was accordingly that of the previous day. Rainfall was measured in a standard copper collecting gauge, temperature read on thermometers inside a Stevenson screen, and radiation measured using Gunn-Bellani radiometers (Baird and Tatlock, London), one for each of two successive periods of time.</p> <p>To convert &lsquo;<em>radi</em>&rsquo; [V] to radiation in W/m<sup>2</sup> [R] the following calibration equations can be applied for the radiometers over their corresponding periods of operation:</p> <ol> <li>R = 24.1 + 12.3∙V&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (01.01.1984 - 02.04.2009)</li> <li>R = 21.1 + 14.7∙V&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; (30.05.2011 &ndash; 31.05.2017)</li> </ol> <p>(Between 03.04.2009 and 29.05.2011 no data were recorded (values &lsquo;NA&rsquo;). Modelled urban climate island during the record-breaking 2022 heatwave in London

<p>This record is created as a data supplement for the manuscript "Estimated mortality attributable to the urban heat island during the record-breaking 2022 heatwave in London".</p> <p>These data were produced using the Weather Research Forecasting model with BEP-BEM. The model setup is described in Brousse et al (2023) <a href="doi.org/10.1175/JAMC-D-22-0142.1">10.1175/JAMC-D-22-0142.1</a>. These data cover the period 2022-07-10 to 2022-07-25, during which temperatures exceding<strong> </strong>40 &deg;C were recorded in London for the first time.</p> <p>The data comprise two NetCDF files. One is labelled "Urb" one "Nourb". In the "Nourb" file, the urban tile is removed from the model and the land surface replaced by the nearest natural tile. This can be used to estimate the influence of the urban tile on the local climate.</p> <p>Variables included in the file are T2 (temperature at 2 m elevation in Kelvin), V10 and U10 (winds at 10 m elevation in metres per second), PSFC (surface level pressure in Pascal), RAINNC (rain in mm), TH2 (potential temperature at 2m elevation in Kelvin), and Q2 (specific humidity at 2 m elevation, which is dimensionless). The <strong>01.2_PRIMER PRIMA-SCREENING.xlsx</strong> file details the screening process, eliminating duplicates and non-English documents, resulting in 271 retained records. The <strong>01.3_PRIMER PRISMA_INCLUDED.xlsx</strong> file contains results after further screening, retaining 82 documents with expanded bibliometric details. The <strong>02.1_SEGUNDOPRISMA_IDENTIFICATION.xlsx</strong> file documents the second phase of identification using new terms related to climate and disinformation, retrieving 174 records. The <strong>02.2_SEGUNDOPRISMA_SCREENING.xlsx</strong> file includes the screening process for the second phase, reducing records to 75, with an abstract review retaining 2 documents. The <strong>02.3_SEGUNDOPRISMA_INCLUDED.xlsx</strong> file integrates documents from both search phases and other sources, culminating in a final review of 86 documents. The <strong>3.1_Other sources.xlsx</strong> file includes additional relevant sources identified during the review process. Finally, the <strong>4-Final included.xlsx</strong> file contains the final set of 75 publications subjected to the DESLOCIS analysis model.</p>

<p>Presence records used to calibrate and validate a climatic suitability model for emerald ash borer in the DDRP platform (Degree-Days, Risk, and Phenological event mapping) (Barker et al. 2023). The first sheet ("Records") of the Excel file provides the range (native or invaded), continent, country, state or province, locality, latitude, and longitude of origin for each record. The "Coords_est" column indicates whether the coordinates were estimated from city- or county-level information (1 = yes, 0 = no). The year in which the record was collected is provided if known. The second sheet of the Excel file ("References") provides a list of references for each record source.</p>

Climate Record of Wintertime Wave-Affected Marginal Ice Zones in the Atlantic Arctic based on CryoSat-2,2010-2022

<p>This record contains data related to article &quot;A 12-Year Climate Record of Wintertime Wave-Affected Marginal Ice Zones in the Atlantic Arctic based on CryoSat-2 &quot;. Wave-affected marginal ice zone (MIZ) is an integral part of the sea ice cover, and a key region for air-ice-sea interactions in polar regions. We develop a novel retrieval algorithm for wave-affected MIZs based on the delay-Doppler radar altimeter onboard CryoSat-2 (CS2). CS2 waveform power and the waveform stack statistics are used to determine the MIZ locations. Based on the CS2 data since 2010, we generate a record of wave-affected MIZs in the Atlantic Arctic, spanning 12 winters between 2010 and 2022.</p> <p>The dataset contains two parts. First, the txt file contains retrieved MIZ locations obtained from each single track. Each column of data is represented by the corresponding CS2 product name, year, month, day, hour, regional flag (1:GS region,2:NS region,3:BS region), the start longitude and latitude of the marginal ice zone on each track, the end longitude and latitude of the marginal ice zone.</p> <p>Second,the gridded dataset is based on the along-track MIZ retrieval results, and it records the presence of the MIZ on the monthly basis. The latitude-longitude grid is adopted, with 2 degrees of longitude spacing and 1 degree of latitude spacing. Each file contains the following variables: the time, the MIZ flag,&nbsp;and the location&nbsp;flag. In this new version, we provide files in both NetCDF and GeoTIFF formats for users to download.</p>

Climate data for C1 chart recorder, 1952 - 1982.

Climatological data were collected from a Niwot Ridge climate station (C1 at 3018 m) throughout the year. Parameters measured were temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, precipitation, barometric pressure, and wind speed. The station was initially instrumented with a thermohygrograph (regularly calibrated and checked with maximum and minimum thermometers and psychrometers), which was equipped with a Bourdon tube (to measure temperature) and a banjo-spread hair element (to measure relative humidity). The thermohygrograph was situated in a white, all wood, louvered Stevenson screen which is oriented with the door facing north. The station was initially instrumented with a standard 8-inch precipitation gauge installed with the rim 1 m above ground. A recording precipitation gauge was installed in 1962, with the installation in the clearing positioned so that the gauge rim subtended an angle of 45 degrees to the tree crowns although the most effective angle is 30 degrees according to Leaf (1962). Precipitation was caught in a bucket containing ethylene glycol (to melt snow) and light oil (to prevent evaporation). As the weight of the bucket increased, a pen moved up via a spring mechanism and recorded on a rotating chart. Solar radiation was recorded on a bimetalic strip mechanical actinometer. Ninety percent of solar radiation from 360 to 2000 nm was transmitted through the instrument's glass dome. Barometric pressure was recorded on a Friez microbarograph at the Mountain Research Station at 2880 m. The instrument was calibrated against a full-range mercurial, Fortin-type barometer. The station was initially instrumented with a totalizing anemometer (approximately 0.7 m above the general level of tree crowns). Wind speed (peak gust) was subsequently measured with a 3-cup, AC-generating anemometer that continuously recorded onto an Esterline Angus strip chart recorder. Climate data for Saddle chart recorder, 1981 - 1982.

Climatological data were collected from a Niwot Ridge climate station (Saddle, 3525 m) throughout the year. Parameters measured were temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and precipitation. Although wind speed, wind direction, and barometric pressure were originally listed as parameters for this data set, no values were actually found to be present in the data and these columns were therefore removed from the data set. The station was instrumented with a thermohygrograph (regularly calibrated and checked with maximum and minimum thermometers and psychrometers), which was equipped with a Bourdon tube (to measure temperature) and a banjo-spread hair element (to measure relative humidity). The thermohygrograph was situated in a white, all wood, louvered Stevenson screen which is oriented with the door facing north. The station was instrumented with a recording precipitation gauge. Precipitation was caught in a bucket containing ethylene glycol (to melt snow) and light oil (to prevent evaporation). CRAAS: Cloud Regime dAtAset based on the CLAAS-2.1 climate data record

<p>The Cloud Regime dAtAset based on the CLAAS-2.1 climate data record (CRAAS) is a dataset of cloud regimes derived from cloud properties from the <a href="https://wui.cmsaf.eu/safira/action/viewDoiDetails?acronym=CLAAS_V002_01">CLAAS-2.1</a> climate data record. Such a cloud regime dataset can provide detailed insight in the cloud climatology over the region of interest and also in climate monitoring through the concept of the cloud regimes.</p> <p>CRAAS covers a region over Europe (30&deg;N to 60&deg;N and from 11&deg;W to 37&deg;E) and it extends from 2004 to 2017. The generated Joint Cloud Histograms (JCHs) of Cloud Top Pressure (CTP) and Cloud Optical Thickness (COT),&nbsp;<br> as well as the derived labeled data points of the cloud regime classification are available on a 1&deg;x1&deg; degree resolution and every 15 minutes.</p> <p>Two sets of yearly files can be found in the dataset. Those containing the generated JCHs from the CLAAS-2.1 climate data record (example filename: &#39;craas_jch_2004.v1.nc&#39;)&nbsp;<br> and those including the labeled data points of the cloud regime classification (example filename: &#39;craas_label_2004.v1.nc&#39;).<br> The files are provided in netCDF4 format, following the NetCDF Climate and Forecast Metadata Conventions-Version 1.8 (CF-1.8).</p>

Highly consistent brightness temperature fundamental climate data record from SSM/I and SSMIS

<p>The highly consistent brightness temperature (TB) fundamental climate data record (FCDR) comprises intercalibrated TBs from SSM/I on F11 and F13, and SSMIS on board F17. It covers the time period from December 1991 to December 2021.&nbsp; It provides homogenized and intercalibrated TBs in a user-friendly data format (HDF5). SSM/I and SSMIS data are used for various applications, such as analyses of the hydrological cycle. The improved homogenization and inter-calibration procedure ensure the long-term stability of the FCDR for climate related applications.&nbsp;<br> This data files contain daily TBs data on 1&deg;&times;1&deg; grid-level of satellite F11, F13 and F17 (Level 2A).<br> It is worth noting that the original sensor TB data are provided by Level-1C dataset. The Level-1C data record is complemented with scan status, quality flags, sun glint angles, and earth incidence angles.</p>

Climatic records and within field data on yield and harvest quality over a whole vineyard estate.

<p>The data were obtained on a 30 ha vineyard located in a peri-urban area near a city of 10,000 inhabitants (Villeneuve-l&egrave;s-Maguelone, France; 43.532300&deg; N, 3.864230&deg; E). The data includes 3 types of data:</p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Block(s) data</strong>: the data describes each vineyard block. The description parameters of the blocks are the identity, the year of plantation, the variety of the grapes, the area, the inter-row distance and vine-distance. The data is provided as vector data (.shp and associated files) using the WGS84 global coordinate reference system for latitude and longitude. The data is composed of 68 features.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Agronomic data</strong>: The data describes production parameters for each &ldquo;harvest sector&rdquo; for the 2022 harvest season. A harvest sector is the area covered by the harvester to fill a harvest trailer before its departure to a cellar. The mean area of these harvest sectors over the vineyard is equal to 0.3 ha. The data is provided as vector data (.shp and associated files) using the WGS84 global coordinate reference system for latitude and longitude. The data is composed of 87 features associated with 87 harvest sectors. Each harvest sector is characterized by the harvest date, the block(s) id(s) that it belongs to, the percentage of unproductive plants(Uplants) and yield parameters (Mass, Yield and Yield PP). For 50 of them, harvest quality parameters are available (Sugar, Alcohol, Total acidity, pH, Yeast Assimilable Nitrogen and Organic Nitrogen).</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Weather data</strong>: the data consists of meteorological data for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 years recorded by a weather station located in the center of the vineyard. The recorded parameters are the followings: date, hour, relative humidity, rain gauge and air temperature. The acquisition time step is 15 minutes. The data are provided in Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. It is composed of 97988 lines. Each line describes meteorological data recorded at a given time.</p> </li> </ul>

Climatological data were collected from a ridgetop climate station east of Niwot Ridge (A1 at 2195 m) throughout the year. Parameters measured were temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and precipitation. The station was initially instrumented with a thermohygrograph (regularly calibrated and checked with maximum and minimum thermometers and psychrometers), standard 8-inch precipitation gauge installed with the rim 1 m above ground, totalizing anemometer (approximately 0.7 m above the general level of tree crowns), and maximum and minimum soil thermometers at approximately 15 and 30 cm depth. A recording precipitation gauge was installed in 1965. The installation in the clearing was positioned so that the gauge rim subtended an angle of 45 degrees to the tree crowns although the most effective angle is 30 degrees according to Leaf (1962).
