Database of measurements for damage detection of steel beam splice connection by Coaxial Correlation Method in 6-D space

This database includes series of measurements of the structure's response taken in six-dimensional space using two 6D sensors, coaxially positioned on either side of the investigated splice connection between two steel beams. The data set consists of two parts. The first part of the data set is measurements for six different specimens with wave type impact – short sweep signal with duration 0.05 s. The second part is the measurements during splice connection degradation of one of the specimens with short impulse. The degradation of a connection is presented by four different states of joints. In the "Read_me_first.pdf" is described the experiment, the format of .csv files names and files' structure.

Used materials, methods and results for the second part of the data set is described in Buka-Vaivade, K.; Kurtenoks, V.; Serdjuks, D. Non-Destructive Damage Detection of Structural Joint by Coaxial Correlation Method in 6D Space. Buildings 2023, 13, 1151. https://doi.org/10.3390/buildings13051151

Supramolecular Self-Healing Sensor Fiber Composites for Damage Detection in Piezoresistive Electronic Skin for Soft Robots

Self-healing materials can prolong the lifetime of structures and products by enabling the repairing of damage. However, detecting the damage and the progress of the healing process remains an important issue. In this study, self-healing, piezoresistive strain sensor fibers (ShSFs) are used for detecting strain deformation and damage in a self-healing elastomeric matrix. The ShSFs were embedded in the self-healing matrix for the development of self-healing sensor fiber composites (ShSFC) with elongation at break values of up to 100%. A quadruple hydrogen-bonded supramolecular elastomer was used as a matrix material. The ShSFCs exhibited a reproducible and monotonic response. The ShSFCs were investigated for use as sensorized electronic skin on 3D-printed soft robotic modules, such as bending actuators. Depending on the bending actuator module, the electronic skin was loaded under either compression (pneumatic-based module) or tension (tendon-based module). In both configurations, the ShSFs could be successfully used as deformation sensors, and in addition, detect the presence of damage based on the sensor signal drift. The sensor under tension showed better recovery of the signal after healing, and smaller signal relaxation. Even with the complete severing of the fiber, the piezoresistive properties returned after the healing, but in that case, thermal heat treatment was required. With their resilient response and self-healing properties, the supramolecular fiber composites can be used for the next generation of soft robotic modules

UAV-based imagery for road damage detection

This dataset contains a set of annotated examples of damage present to the road, obtained via an UAV in Poznań, Poland. The imagery was obtained by flying a UAV over a set of roads at approximately 70m above ground level, and further creating an ortophotomosaics of three different pieces of road. Lastly, the ortophotomosaics were patched into non-overlapping patches of 512x512 pixel size, and each patch was manually labeled with a set of objects and classes proposed in the UAPD dataset (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.autcon.2021.103991, https://github.com/tantantetetao/UAPD-Pavement-Distress-Dataset).

Patches without a significant presence of the road-like objects were discarded, and the data includes:

ortophotomosaics -- a set of three original ortophotomosaics with ground sampling distance of 2.54 cm/pixel in .tif format,

labeled patches -- a set of 99 patches containing road with annotations in both PASCAL VOC (.xml) and YOLO (.txt) formats

Lastly, this data has been used as a holdout set in a Master's thesis conducted at Poznań University of Technology.
