User-centered Usability Analysis of 41 Open Government Data Portals

The data were collected during the user-centered analysis of usability of 41 open government data portals including EU27, applying a common methodology to them, considering aspects such as specification of open data set, feedback and requests, further broken down into 14 sub-criteria. Each aspect was assessed using a three-level Likert scale (fulfilled - 3, partially fulfilled - 2, and unfulfilled – 1), that belongs to the acceptability tasks. This dataset summarises a total of 1640 protocols obtained during the analysis of the selected portals carried out by 40 participants, who were selected on a voluntary basis. This is complemented with 4 summaries of these protocols, which include calculated average scores by category, aspect and country. These data allow comparative analysis of the national open data portals, help to find the key challenges that can negatively impact users’ experience, and identifies portals that can be considered as an example for the less successful open data portals.

Data for "a cavity-based optical antenna for color centers in diamond"

An efficient atom-photon-interface is a key requirement for the integration of solid-state emitters such as color centers in diamond into quantum technology applications. Just like other solid state emitters, however, their emission into free space is severely limited due to the high refractive index of the bulk host crystal. In this work, we present a planar optical antenna based on two silver mirrors coated on a thin single crystal diamond membrane, forming a planar Fabry-Pérot cavity that improves the photon extraction from single tin vacancy (SnV) centers as well as their coupling to an excitation laser. Upon numerical optimization of the structure, we find theoretical enhancements in the collectible photon rate by a factor of 60 as compared to the bulk case. As a proof-of-principle demonstration, we fabricate single crystal diamond membranes with sub-µm thickness and create SnV centers by ion implantation. Employing off-resonant excitation, we show a 6-fold enhancement of the collectible photon rate, yielding up to half a million photons per second from a single SnV center. At the same time, we observe a significant reduction of the required excitation power in accordance with theory, demonstrating the functionality of the cavity as an optical antenna.
Due to its planar design, the antenna simultaneously provides similar enhancements for a large number of emitters inside the membrane. Furthermore, the monolithic structure provides high mechanical stability and straightforwardly enables operation under cryogenic conditions as required in most spin-photon interface implementations.

Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Training Coordinating Center (TCC) Educational Resource Discovery Index (ERuDIte) as Linked Data

This is a release of the Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) Training Coordinating Center (TCC) Educational Resource Discovery Index (ERuDIte) as Linked Data.

ERuDIte contains over 11,000 training resources on data science including courses (MOOCs), video tutorials, conference talks, and other materials. The metadata of these resources is described uniformly using schema.org. In addition, we use machine learning techniques to tag each resource with concepts from the Data Science Education Ontology (DSEO), which we developed to further describe the contents of the training resources. Resource relevance and tags are curated by experts to ensure high quality. Finally, we map the references to people and organizations in the learning resource metadata to entities in DBpedia, DBLP, and ORCID, thus embedding our collection in the web of linked data. Our collection is continually growing. We hope that ERuDIte will provide a framework to foster open linked educational resources on the web.

Distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/)

Data of the publication "Hydrodynamics in long-range interacting systems with center-of-mass conservation"

In systems with a conserved density, the additional conservation of the center of mass (dipole moment) has been shown to slow down the associated hydrodynamics. At the same time, long-range interactions generally lead to faster transport and information propagation. Here, we explore the competition of these two effects and develop a hydrodynamic theory for long-range center-of-mass-conserving systems. We demonstrate that these systems can exhibit a rich dynamical phase diagram containing subdiffusive, diffusive, and superdiffusive behaviors, with continuously varying dynamical exponents. We corroborate our theory by studying quantum lattice models whose emergent hydrodynamics exhibit these phenomena.
