Chinese Policy Documents Database, 2018 - 2023

This database presents a comprehensive collection of Chinese policy documents issued by the State Council and the Central Committee (incl. their general offices) over the past five years, spanning from January 2018 to January 2023. While the database only contains central level policy documents, it is important to note that policy documents are issued at each of China's five administrative levels (national, provincial, prefecture, county, and township) contributing to a complex and multifaceted governance system. However, the central level documents in this database provide guidance and direction for lower-level policy content, and lower-level documents often refer directly to the State Council or Central Committee policy documents.

The policy documents in the database originate from the authorities listed in Table 1. Some documents are co-published – typically a combination of the Central Committee general office and State Council general office.

The database (access here: https://chinahorizons.eu/our-research/database/chinese-party-state-politics-a-catalogue-of-policy-documents )consists of 1) pdf files containing the actual documents, and 2) excel sheets with lists of documents for each year (2018-2023). In the excel sheets you will find a "publication date", which works as identifier for the pdf files. In addition, the excel sheets lists information on each document: issuing authority, document number (if any) and type, issue area, document tittle in Chinese and English as well as the online source of the document.

Deliverable 2.4: Biodiversity impact database including characterization factors and documentation ready for use in Module C

We quantify the impacts of agriculture and livestock, on biodiversity (including intensity of use), and translate the results of these modeling efforts which indicate current patterns of biodiversity indicators in both South America and Africa (as well as potential biodiversity loss) to data inputs to be further used in CLEVER.

The Palaeoflora Database - Documentation and Data

The Palaeoflora database has been designed to provide essential information about fossil taxa, their related nearest living relatives (NLRs), and their climatic requirements. The database was established in 1990 to foster quantitative palaeoclimate reconstructions and has been continually growing, as well as being updated and corrected on a regular basis. As of March 2024, Palaeoflora includes ca. 7000 macrobotanical and 3300 microbotanical taxa, and ca. 1900 modern taxonomical units (species, genera, families) for which climate data are available.

The NLR concept proposed in the Palaeoflora refers to published palaeobotanical literature resources and kind advice of numerous colleagues. Being maintained in the context of the international scientific network NECLIME (www.neclime.de), Palaeoflora profits immensely from co-operations and the activities within NECLIME, especially of the working groups on palynology and plant macrofossils. Climatic ranges for extant plant taxa in the Palaeoflora Database are mainly based on records of meteorological stations located within the plant distribution area of the respective taxon and refer to a global context. Climate data of the Palaeoflora database are most suitable to reconstruct past regional climates based on palaeobotanical records.

SIMARA: a database for key-value information extraction from full-page handwritten documents

We propose a new database for information extraction from historical handwritten documents. The corpus includes 5,393 finding aids from six different series, dating from the 18th-20th centuries. Finding aids are handwritten documents that contain metadata describing older archives. They are stored in the National Archives of France and are used by archivists to identify and find archival documents.

Each document is annotated at page-level, and contains seven fields to retrieve. The localization of each field is not available in such a way that this dataset encourages research on segmentation-free systems for information extraction.

PatCID: an open-access database of chemical structures in patent documents

PatCID is a chemical-structure database automatically created from images in patent documents. It contains 13M unique molecules, 80M molecule images, and 1.2M annotated documents from the United States (USPTO), Europe (EPO), Japan (JPO), Korea (KIPO), and China (CNIPA).

Leveraging state-of-the-art document understanding models, PatCID enables accurate document and molecule retrieval in patents.

Examples of how to use PatCID can be found on the PatCID GitHub repository

Databases of Patent Prospection of "Economic criteria on Policosanol extraction" study: CSV and PDF documents

These databases derive from the processes of patent prospection on Economic Criteria in Patents on Policosanol by Advanced Search and IP Business Intelligence of Orbit seekers (version 1.9.8), in CSV format to be used with software suitable for replicating the results, new statistical, semantic and other treatments.

They are doubted in two groups: 1) economic criteria referred to in patents on Policosanol, in a broad way, involving processes before or after obtaining them (mode FamPat); 2) economic criteria mentioned in patents on Policosanol, specifically involving its extraction processes (mode FullPat).

No results were found, for extraction modality, in searches 03 for Ibero-American countries and 04, so the corresponding databases were not generated.

Three PDF achieves with the first page of the patents/family and its technical links are available for easy consults of main information.

These elements are constitutive of the article entitled "Economic criteria on Policosanol extraction: a systematic literature review and patents prospection", by professors Rilton Gonçalo Bonfim Primo, Jesus Martín-Gil, Fernando Cardoso Pedrão, Carlos Narciso Bouza and Ricardo de Araújo Kalid.

Database 'Documents of Ancient Greek Music' (dDAGM) 1.1

This database has been created by Dr Tosca A.C. Lynch (https://oxford.academia.edu/ToscaLynch) and includes all the notes attested in the ancient Greek musical documents collected in the standard edition (DAGM = Pöhlmann, E. and West, M.L., 2001, Documents of Ancient Greek Music, Oxford: OUP).

Dr Lynch will present historically informed interpretations of these data in a series of articles devoted, respectively, to the Classical/Hellenistic harmonic system and the relative documents (marked as BC in this database), and the Imperial harmonic system and the relative documents (marked as AD in this database).

Dubious readings follow Pöhlmann and West; DAGM 17-18 are grouped with the Imperial documents, as discussed in the articles.
The Greek musical notation fonts used in dDAGM have been designed by Stefan Hagel (Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna).

In its current form, Database Documents of Ancient Greek Music is not very user-friendly; an enhanced, accessible version of this database shall be developed by Tosca A.C. Lynch in the coming years.
Please contact Dr Lynch if you have further questions.
