Dataset to Model the Sustainability of a Primary School Digital Education Curricular Reform and Professional Development Program

This dataset contains the quantitative teacher data used to analyse the sustainability of an in-service teacher training program for Digital Education that took place from September 2019 to March 2020 in the Canton Vaud in Switzerland. As such, the study follows up on the 350 teachers over a year after the end of their professional development program had ended in order to model the sustainability of the reform, understand to what extent sustainability had been reached, thus validating the curricular reform model and helping draw recommendations for researchers and practitioners involved in Digital Education curricular reforms. As such, approximately 290 teachers from grades 1-4 in primary school (ages 5-9) responded to two sustainability surveys using web-based questionnaire to provide information relating to their perception of the training sessions and adoption of the computer science activities.

The study is accepted for publication in Education and Information Technologies.

A README is included and provides additional information regarding :

- the requirements for re-use.

- the specific content of the 2 csv files

Figure 3. Impact of the Boom in digital data in learning-Micro Learning: A Modernized Education System-

Figure 3 portrays the research guiding the impact of the boom in digital data in knowledge codification. The current status shows that 80% of the respondents are interested in learning via electronic devices, followed by e-mails at 75%. 72% and 70% of respondents opt for video clips and sound and voice recording. 65% of the respondents selected images followed by graphical display at 61%. 50% of the respondents selected Journals. Further observation from the figure reveals that books and reference volumes had a very insignificant impact, as expected by merely 45% and 30% of the respondents. This directed us towards the necessity for micro learning, and encourages the increase of the usage of electronic devices.

Universities and Unicorns – New Forms of Value in Digital Higher Education (SRHE webinar)

SRHE's Digital University Network organised an event on 21 September 2023. The research team from the ESRC-funded research project Universities and Unicorns (UU) project presented initial findings after the project finished. The project introduced fundamentally new ways to think about and examine the digitalising of the higher education sector. It investigated new forms of value creation and suggested that value in the sector increasingly lies in the creation of digital assets. Further, the project examined whether and how universities, companies and investors shift from forms of entrepreneurship to forms of rentiership. This has important consequences. Assetisation and rentiership imply a change from creating value via market exchange to capturing value via the ownership and control of assets, such as personal data.

More about the webinar: https://srhe.ac.uk/civicrm/?civiwp=CiviCRM&q=civicrm%2Fevent%2Finfo&reset=1&id=641

Global evolution of educational marketing in the digital age: A bibliometric analysis of its impact on student satisfaction

Educational marketing has emerged as a crucial strategy to improve student satisfaction in an increasingly competitive and globalized academic environment. This bibliometric research aimed to analyze the evolution and trends in the scientific literature on educational marketing as a strategy for student satisfaction. A qualitative and descriptive approach with a non-experimental and longitudinal design was used. The study analyzed 201 documents extracted from Scopus, using bibliometric techniques implemented through VOSviewer and Bibliometrix. The results reveal an annual growth of 10.51% in scientific production, with significant contributions from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and India, as well as a growing participation of Latin American countries. A core of specialized journals leading publication in this field was identified. Keyword co-occurrence analysis highlighted central themes such as higher education, e-learning and student satisfaction. The research shows an expanding interdisciplinary field, with approaches that address internationalization, the use of digital technologies and the personalization of educational services. It is concluded that educational marketing is an effective strategic tool to improve student satisfaction, retention and academic performance, highlighting the need to adapt these strategies to the rapid technological and social changes in the educational sector.
