**Ciało ryby z gatunku Diodon hystrix L., 1758** **Nr inw.:** CMM/DO/411 **Wymiary:** długość 390 mm **Pochodzenie:** dar **Okres powstania:** 1964-1974 **Opis:** Ciało ryby z rodziny najeżkowatych, krótkie i tęgie, pokryte pancerzem kostnym utworzonym z wielokątnych płytek. Kości szczękowe zrośnięte w twardy dziób. Skrzela niezrośnięte ze skórą, umieszczone w tylnej części głowy. Ogon symetryczny. Płetwy rozpięte na ruchomych promieniach kostnych. Płetwa grzbietowa i odbytowa przesunięta ku trzonowi ogonowemu. Brak płetw brzusznych i piersiowych. Jelito tworzy uchyłki, które napełnione powietrzem i wodą powodują nadymanie się ryby i najeżanie kolców. Duże kolce na ciele stale najeżone, skierowane ku tyłowi. Ciemne plamy na ciele, liczniejsze na grzbiecie.
