Dataset of the manuscript "Assessing the influence of Eisenia andrei on the decomposition of Casuarina equisetifolia litter in vermicompost."

Data generated during an experiment of decomposition of Casuarina equisetifolia litter by the application of vermicompost (VC) or the combination vermicompost + the earthworm Eisenia andrei (E).

Six files are included:

"readme.csv" is a file where we explain the meaning of each column (and in which units is expressed) in each of the other five files.

"earthworm_N_biomass.csv" is a table with the number of Eisenia andrei individuals and the total earthworm fresh weight in each of the experimental units we sampled

"FTIR_spectra.csv" is a file with the raw spectral data we obtained from the litter by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy combined with Attenuated Total Reflectance (FTIR-ATR). First column indicate the wavenumber (cm-1) and the other columns indicate the absorbance values of each litter sample for each wavenumber.

"litter_chemical_composition.csv" is a file with the raw data of the concentrations of different chemical elements measured in C. equisetifolia litter collected at different decomposition times.

"litter_mass_loss.csv" contains the dry weight data of the litter at time 0 and after each collection time, as well as the percentage of litter mass loss with time. .

"mesofaunal_com.csv" are the numbers of individuals of several groups of mesofaunal organisms (collembolans, mites, and others) we recovered in each of our experimental units.

Raw data for the manuscript: The influence of soil organic matter content and substance lipophilicity on the toxicity of pesticides to the earthworm Eisenia andrei

Raw data obtained from toxicity tests with the earthworm Eisenia andrei exposed for 56 days to chlorpyrifos, lindane, cyproconazole, carbendazim and imidacloprid in artificial soils containing 10%, 5%, 2.5% sphagnum peat, and LUFA 2.2 soil. Tests were performed following OECD guideline 222. The file includes data on earthworm starting and ending weights, survival, and reproduction.

Reproduction, growth and oxidative stress in the earthworm Eisenia andrei exposed to conventional and biodegradable mulching film microplastics

Dataset on Earthworm (Eisenia andrei) exposed to of low-density polyethylene microplastics (PE-MP) and polybutylene adipate terephthalate biodegradable microplastics (PBAT-BD-MP) originating from mulching films. The study utilized seven concentrations (0, 0.005, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1, and 5% w/w) in five replicates. Survival, growth, and oxidative stress responses of the earthworms were analysed after four weeks of exposure. Measured biomarker responses were superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione reductase, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione, and lipid peroxidation. Additionally, the Integrated Biomarker Response Index (IBR) was conducted to assess the overall oxidative stress status of the earthworms. The number of biomass of the juveniles were recorded after four additional weeks. The total length of the experiment was eight weeks. Soil water holding capacity (WHC) was analysed in the beginning of the experiment and soil pH in the beginning and end of the experiment. The study was conducted at the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) Under project PAPILLONS (EU Horizon).
