A Review of Transnational Migrant Entrepreneurship
<p>The spatialities of migrant entrepreneurship have changed dynamically in recent decades. Movements and exchanges transcend national borders more than ever, and transnational migrant entrepreneurship has become a burgeoning field of research. Yet, knowledge is dispersed across disciplines, and an understanding of contemporary spatialities is limited. We review 155 articles published in English, French, German, and Spanish since 2009, thereby providing an overview of existing knowledge on transnational migrant entrepreneurship and suggesting avenues for future research. We identify five current topical areas of research: (1) the business advantages of transnational migrant entrepreneurship, (2) the determinants of becoming a transnational migrant entrepreneur, (3) the transnational networks of migrants, (4) the economic impacts of transnational migrant entrepreneurship on home and host countries, and (5) whether local environments enable or deter entrepreneurial success. Building on our synthesis of the most recent literature, we propose three crucial dimensions which have been under-researched in past and current work, and which address the diversity of geographical locations, spatial connections, and spatial mobilities involved in transnational migrant entrepreneurship. Moreover, we put forward a set of questions for future research which will advance a comprehension of unequal opportunities among transnational migrant entrepreneurs.</p>
Cross-border Migrant Entrepreneurship in Switzerland
<p>Across the globe, entrepreneurship is promoted as an opportunity for migrants and refugees to use their various economic potentials and contribute to society. Yet, these debates often portray the phenomenon as static and homogenous, ignoring diverse mobility patterns and the fact that not everyone is in a position to start a successful business.<br> The presented study examines the lived experiences of migrants from different<br> backgrounds trying to create a business in Switzerland. Building on the mobility perspective, it explores how entrepreneurship is embedded in individual im/mobility trajectories that go beyond a single movement from an origin to a destination country but include ongoing mobilities between several countries. Methodologically, it is based on 34 biographic interviews, as well as ethnographic observations within an organisation that supports migrant entrepreneurship in Zurich.<br> The study contributes by showing how the interviewees try to capitalise on their experiences of living in multiple places and how this process is shaped by intersecting social markers, such as socio-economic position, gender/ family situation, and legal status.</p> <p>Codebook along DDI standard in pdf and xml formats, scanned maps in jpg format.</p>
EUXCEL Entrepreneurship Programme - Participant Survey 2015 - Part 1
<p>The survey was conducted in the context of the EUXCEL European wide ICT entrepreneurship initiative (Grant agreement 644801) which supports aspiring young tech entrepreneurs interested in co-founding new international information, communication and technology (ICT) start-ups through an initial, week long start-up event wherein team members meet and interact, followed by a 12 week virtual incubation phase. Participants were drawn from 25 different countries, and formed multi-national teams, consisting of at least 3 nationalities in each team.</p> <p> </p> <p>With a view to exploring the internal team dynamics which underpin the performance of new venture teams (NVTs) in this context, the survey objectives included:</p> <ul> <li>Exploring the relative contribution of flexibility, market awareness, analytical skill, self-efficacy and creativity to team performance</li> <li>Exploring the impact of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder on team performance</li> <li>Exploring the impact of social astuteness on team performance</li> <li>Exploring the impact of fear of failure in this context</li> </ul> <p>This survey received 229 responses with a male to female ratio of 70:30. The average age of respondents was 25.3.</p> <p> </p>

self-effectuation in learning entrepreneurship
<p><strong>I used CHatgtp to summarize what my theory on "self-effectuation" means practically. This is the answer.</strong></p> <p>In summary, self-effectuation in learning entrepreneurship means teaching students to make their own unique design from small pieces, rather than following a traditional business plan.</p> <p>The concept of quilting is used to describe the process of successful entrepreneurship, where small pieces of opportunities and resources are pieced together step by step to create a unique personal design. This non-linear and complex process is called "self-effectuation" and it's characterized by the theories of Sarasvathy and Bandura's self-efficacy. The Action Regulation Theory is also combined with this concept, emphasizing the importance of the entrepreneurial mindset in planning and regulating actions for success. The question of self-effectuation is whether or not to adopt this quilting approach in one's personal entrepreneurial development.</p> <p>Self-effectuation can be achieved by providing them with a learning environment and context, such as game simulations like LEARNGames, where they can learn to select the pieces they need and bring them together in their own way. The complexity of the context can be increased over successive sessions, allowing students to practice and develop their entrepreneurial skills in a dynamic and uncertain environment. It should be noted that this approach emphasizes on the active process of acquiring small pieces (opportunities and resources) and the affordable loss (vanishing resources and markets) instead of detailed and elaborate planning.</p>

EFFECTIVENESS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
<p>ABSTRACT: Within the works of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship training, several readings have discussed the nature of entrepreneurship orientation, measurement, and importance. Others contemplated the connection between enterprise preparing and pioneering expectations. They talked about the capacity of enterprise preparing to urge people to go into business. Little has been done to consider the connection between enterprise preparing and pioneering direction. There exists a positive and noteworthy causal connection between business preparing and different elements of pioneering direction. This investigation adds to filling the hole in the business enterprise writing in two folds. To start with, it is the primary investigation that tends with the impact of enterprise preparing on the pioneering direction as a suitable business system. Second, it considers the causal connection between enterprise preparing and innovative direction in organizations as the most needed such a pioneering experience. At last, Theoretical and administrative ramifications will be examined.</p>
The Geography of Entrepreneurship: A Scientometric analysis from 1982 to 2019
<p>This study is a first attempt to map the state of geography of entrepreneurship research, an interdisciplinary field at the intersection of geography and entrepreneurship. Over the past 38 years, the field has seen exponential growth in publications. We discuss leading contributors, research collaboration, theoretical underpinnings and research hotspots based on bibliometric methods. The study comprises 1835 articles indexed by Web of Science between 1982 and 2019. Utilizing Bibexcel, VOSviewer, CiteSpace and ArcGIS, this article reveals that: Western European countries play a leading role in the field of geography of entrepreneurship; Studies in this field is published in rather concentrated channels; Six scholarly tribes emerge in collaboration network and they focus on regional determinants and impact of entrepreneurship, evolution of regions, rural development and firm location choices; The field mainly build on four different intellectual schools: entrepreneurship and economics school, neoliberalism school, political and economic geography school and sociology school; Evolution of research topics in this field was also visualized. Research hotspots in different periods include the impact of entrepreneurship in regional development, macro-level policy for innovation, knowledge spillover, migration and rural development, evolution and entrepreneurial ecosystem.</p>

Data from: Risky business: linking Toxoplasma gondii infection and entrepreneurship behaviours across individuals and countries
Disciplines such as business and economics often rely on the assumption of rationality when explaining complex human behaviours. However, growing evidence suggests that behaviour may concurrently be influenced by infec- tious microorganisms. The protozoan, Toxoplasma gondii, infects an estimated 2 billion people worldwide and has been linked to behavioural alterations in humans and other vertebrates. Here we integrate primary data from college students and business professionals with national-level information on cultural attitudes toward business to test the hypothesis that T. gondii infection influences individual as well as societal-scale entre- preneurship activities. Using a saliva-based assay, we found that students (n 1⁄4 1495) who tested IgG positive for T. gondii exposure were 1.4 more likely to major in business and 1.70 more likely to have an emphasis in 'management and entrepreneurship' over other business-related emphases. Among professionals attending entrepreneurship events, T. gondii-positive individuals were 1.8 more likely to have started their own business com- pared with other attendees (n 1⁄4 197). Finally, after synthesizing and combining country-level databases on T. gondii infection from the past 25 years with the global entrepreneurship monitor of entrepreneurial activity, we found that infection prevalence was a consistent, positive predictor of entrepreneurial activity and intentions at the national scale, regardless of whether previously identified economic covariates were included. Nations with higher infection also had a lower fraction of respondents citing 'fear of failure' in inhibiting initiating new business ventures. While correlational, these results highlight the linkage between parasitic infection and complex human behaviours, including those relevant to business, entrepreneurship, and economic productivity.
