<p>Dataset of use cases collected between July and October 2016 during a series of metadata focus groups conducted with a number of the <strong>Research Data Shared Service</strong> pilots who volunteered for the process.</p> <p>This dataset is available in two formats (including an open format) with the same content: 180 use cases in the following user story structure: </p> <ul> <li><strong>As a</strong></li> <li><strong>Theme</strong></li> <li><strong>I want </strong></li> <li><strong>So that</strong></li> <li><strong>Comments</strong></li> </ul> <p>The .xlsx file contains additional formatting grouping the use cases by theme, role, data and community.</p>

<h3>Description</h3> <p>This qualitative dataset is the <strong>third part</strong> of a PhD study on co-designing smart home technologies, and represents the data collected during a <strong>online focus group</strong> with professionals developing smart technology, its early-adopters, and late/non-adopters. The meeting was conducted at Microsoft Teams with the support of an visual board on Miro. <p><strong>Anonymised transcriptions (local and translated versions) of 18 Focus Groups with RWPP voters in Spain, UK, Denmark, Germany, Hungay, Switzerland</strong></p> <p>In the UNTWIST project, we have carried out a total of 18 focus groups in Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. They explore RWPP voters’ subjective perceptions of their needs and demands, their horizon of expectations, and their level of ‘gender fatigue’. Groups’ design followed two minimum criteria: same-sex composition (with a minimum of two same sex -male and female- groups per country) and voting behaviour (current voters of RWPP who have previously voted for mainstream parties or abstained or have doubts about RWPP and mainstream or abstain in case of voting for the first time).</p> <p> The composition of the groups varied between 6 and 10 participants per group in all but one partner’s country. In Denmark, all focus groups experienced dropouts. These unforeseen issues led to conducting the focus groups with fewer participants than was initially designed.</p> <p> In 83% of countries, the empirical composition of focus groups was considered and controlled for participants’ age, social class position and level of education.</p> <p>Finally, groups were same-sex moderated.</p> <p>Two comprised folders are provided. One contains the anonymised transcriptions of 18 Focus Groups carried out for WP2 of the UNTWIST project in their local languages. The other contains the IA-translated (Deepl) version of the same focus groups. The activities related to the publication were the following: 9 focus groups (72 people) and 35 individual interviews were carried out in the 3 countries. All recorded data was analysed using discourse analysis as the framework. </p>

SSH CENTRE - Mini-reports : Focus groups on "Adaptation to Climate Change: support at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030"
<p>SSH CENTRE (Social Sciences and Humanities for Climate, Energy aNd Transport Research Excellence) is a Horizon Europe project, engaging directly with stakeholders across research, policy, and business (including citizens) to strengthen social innovation, SSH-STEM collaboration, transdisciplinary policy advice, inclusive engagement, and SSH communities across Europe, accelerating the EU's transition to carbon neutrality. </p><p>SSH CENTRE is based in a range of activities related to Open Science, inclusivity and diversity – especially with regards Southern and Eastern Europe and different career stages – including: development of novel SSH-STEM collaborations to facilitate the delivery of the EU Green Deal; SSH knowledge brokerage to support regions in transition; and the effective design of strategies for citizen engagement in EU R&I activities. Outputs include action-led agendas and building stakeholder synergies through regular Policy Insight events.</p><p>This is captured in a high-profile virtual SSH CENTRE generating and sharing best practice for SSH policy advice, overcoming fragmentation to accelerate the EU's journey to a sustainable future.</p><p>The aim of the focus groups was to gather citizen's perspectives, their hopes, concerns and ideas related to the Horizon Mission of Adaptation to Climate Change: support at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030. The focus group discussion topics while remaining close to the Mission, avoid specific technical references to allow citizens to contribute based on their differing levels of understanding. As part of the SSH CENTRE project, in total, four focus group series will be conducted relating to Adaptation to Climate Change; Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030; 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030; A Soil Deal for Europe. </p><p>Notes were taken during each focus groups and turned into mini-reports. These mini-reports sum up the essence of the discussion: the participants' main ideas and some interesting quotes. </p>
HRE2021-0515-03 Research Data: Focus Group Transcripts
<p>The Centre for Culture and Technology (CCAT) at Curtin University undertook a project aiming to provide better support for grey literature research outputs including reports, working papers and blog posts. </p> <p>The research team for the project ‘Increasing the Visibility of Grey Literature’ was:</p> <ul> <li>Professor Katie Ellis, Centre for Culture and Technology</li> <li>Niamh Quigley, Research Associate, Centre for Culture and Technology</li> </ul> <p>This dataset contains the deidentified transcripts of two focus groups held with producers of grey literature at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. The participants have been deidentified, and named as P1 to P9. In focus group 1, P1 was an observer. In focus group 2, P8 was both an observer and also participated. The online focus groups were conducted on 27/01/2022 and 01/02/2022. Epub 2017 Nov 1.</p> <p>The sample of this article was the data obtained from 14 out-patients with TRS, 9 family members with the role of main carer, and 13 mental health professionals, from March to June (2015). The activities related to the manuscript were the following: 5 discussion groups (2 with professionals, 2 with patients, and 1 with family members) were performed in Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (PSSJD), representing Barcelona metropolitan area. In addition, 8 individual interviews were held (4 with patients and 4 with family members). All recorded data was analyzed following discourse analysis as the analytical approach. </p>
Building Public Confidence in Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment and Reuse: Survey Data and Focus Group Transcripts
<p>Constructed wetlands have been proposed as a cost-effective wastewater treatment, storage, and reuse solution for communities that are considering alternative water supply options to meet essential demands. In 2016, we began exploring the idea of wastewater reuse and the construction of an experimental wetland in Sewanee, located in the southern U.S. state of Tennessee. As a major barrier to water reuse is often public resistance, we conducted a survey and focus groups to determine strategies to develop and initiate a community engagement campaign, aiming to empower residents to form reasoned opinions about local water supply options.</p> <p>This data set includes the survey that was distributed to Sewanee community members between November 2015 and February 2016, as well as protocols for three focus groups that were conducted with K12 teachers and community leaders on February 11 and 12, 2016. The survey results are summarized in a Microsoft Excel file. The three focus groups were transcribed, these transcripts are included here as PDF documents.</p>
Report of the Focus Group with Stakeholders in the Middle-East
<p>As part of the MENARA project, the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut (IFI – AUB) organized a focus group in Beirut (Lebanon) on 2 November 2018 with twelve scholars, experts, civil society leaders and activists from Lebanon and the Arab Middle East. </p> <p>The discussions were linked to the general aims of the MENARA project – characterizing the regional order, defining scenarios and discussing policy options for the EU – and was initially (informally) structured in four parts (though participants themselves were allowed to take the discussion in directions that made sense to them):</p> <p>1. Regional rivalries and new regional order<br> 2. State–society dynamics<br> 3. The role of the EU and other external actors<br> 4. Future scenarios</p> <p>This report contains the summary of the discussion during the focus group.</p>

Codebook for the analysis of focus group interview data collected as part of the DETECT project.
<p>This is the codebook created for the analysis of focus group interview data collected as part of the <a href="http://detectproject.eu/">DETECT project</a>. In particular, nine interviews were conducted with primary and secondary school teachers in Finland, Italy, Spain and the UK in order to explore their perceptions of critical digital literacies and how these are manifested in their practices. The interviews were organised and conducted by the researchers in the respective local HEIs between February-June 2020. A total of 7 focus-groups interviews took place with a total number of 39 participating teachers (7 from Finland, 6 from the UK, 9 from Spain and 17 from Italy). The interviews were conducted both face to face (schools in Spain) and online (schools in Finland, Italy and the UK) due to pandemic-related restrictions imposed shortly after the start of the data collection period.</p> <p>The collected data were read and segmented and all interview excerpts relating to the Critical Digital Literacies framework sub-dimensions were marked and chosen for the analysis. The total number of marked segments was 666 in all nine focus group interviews.
