Long-term monitoring of reptiles and ground arthropods near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Mesa, Arizona, USA, ongoing since 2010
Reptiles and amphibians have been monitored at the Gateway site since 2010. The goals of the project have been to provide undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to learn hands-on wildlife techniques, follow seasonal patterns of herpetofauna and ground arthropods, and serve as a test bed for new projects and technologies, including development of a mobile app for data collection. Live trapping methods include 6 trap arrays of pitfall and funnel traps placed along drift fences. Arrays are checked daily when traps are actively open to trap animals. Lizards are given a unique toe clip code, but all other species are unmarked. Reptiles and amphibians are weighed and measured and released at point of capture. Ground arthropods are counted to the Order-level. Arrays are open typically from March to October and the years vary in trapping effort with arrays open from 2 to 68 days per year. The most common species captured are tiger whiptail (*Aspidoscelis tigris*) and common side-blotched (*Uta stansburiana*) lizards.
Data for: Wikipedia as a gateway to biomedical research
<p>Wikipedia has been described as a gateway to knowledge. However, the extent to which this gateway ends at Wikipedia or continues via supporting citations is unknown. This dataset was used to establish benchmarks for the relative distribution and referral (click) rate of citations, as indicated by presence of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), from Wikipedia with a focus on medical citations.</p> <p>This data set includes for each day in August 2016 a listing of all DOI present in the English language version of Wikipedia and whether or not the DOI are biomedical in nature. Climate transition at the Eocene - Oligocene influenced by bathymetric changes to the Atlantic - Arctic oceanic gateways
<p>This data includes input and output fields of the Norwegian Earth System model simulations targeting the Eocene-Oligocene boundary, and the data accompanies a scientific article with the same name (DOI 10.1073/pnas.2115346119). This data is aimed to provide users enough data to reproduce the figures appearing in the article and to analyze the steady state behavior beyond what is discussed in the article. We also provide the ocean bathymetry and atmospheric topography that allows others to create a model setup similar to what is used in the article.</p> <p>For most files there are two output periods 1450-1500 is a common period for the experiments: Late Eocene and cases 1-5. This period the average over the last 50 years of the experiments that were branched of the common spinup at year 1000. The latter period 2650-2700 includes continuation of the Late Eocene and Case 2 simulations and their lower CO2 counterparts (branched of from their parent simulations at year 2000). For more information of the simulations and the setup, we refer to the parent article.</p> <p>In addition to the output files, we also share the grid files of the ocean model (grid*.nc) and the topography used by the atmospheric model (ATM_TOPO.nc). Note that we did not change the land mask between the experiments which is why there is only one ATM_TOPO, but one grid file per each experiment.</p>

<p>A set of initial API endpoints have been defined for the central API Gateway together with the initial set of service wrappers for each of the covered technologies (OLS, OntoPortal and Skosmos). This involves detailing the call URL structures, HTTP methods, service parameters, authentication methods, and expected response formats for each type of endpoint. <span>This document outlines the various backend APIs for the API Gateway and provides guidance on how to harmonise and map them. The API Gateway is used to provide information in a format that can be utilised by the widgets within the Terminology Service Suite (TSS). Each table in this document is related to one widget of the TSS.</span></p>

Development Gateway shisha study quantitative data: a cross-sectional survey investigating factors associated with shisha use in Nigeria
<p>This data is from a cross-sectional telephone survey among 1278 respondents (611 current shisha smokers and 667 shisha non-smokers) exploring the following questions:</p> <ol> <li>What factors (demographic, social, cultural, behavioural, etc.) are associated with the use of shisha in Nigeria?</li> <li>What are the shisha use patterns and behaviours among those who use shisha in Nigeria?</li> </ol> <p>The study was conducted across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria (North-East, North-West, North-Central, South-East, South-South and South-West) in the following states: Lagos, Oyo, FCT, Plateau, Gombe, Adamawa, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Edo, Anambra and Ebonyi.</p> <p>The data was collected between 28th July and 11th September 2022.</p> <p>Also included is the codebook and the study questionnaire.</p>

<p>This archive file contains the raw data obtained from Contiki sensor nodes during Cooja experiments in the folders e2e, terminate, terminate_1st and plaintext.</p> <p>The archive accompagnies the IEEE ISSNIP 2015 publication titled "Secure communication in IP-based wireless sensor networks via a trusted gateway" by Floris Van den Abeele, Tom Vandewinckele, Jeroen Hoebeke, Ingrid Moerman and Piet Demeester.</p> <p><br /> Also included is the data_parser python script that converts the raw data into CSV files that are parseable by R. The script contains the definitions of the contents of the raw data files.<br /> Finally, the R scripts that use the CSV files to generate the plots from the paper are also included.</p>

<p>These data include the current velocities collected with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) in the Guafo Mouth from April 2021 to November 2023. </p><p>The file '1_ADCP_Corcovado_FR_06.10.2021.mat' is the raw ADCP data collected from April to October 2021. </p><p>The file 'Oct_2021_abr_2022.mat' is the raw ADCP data collected from October 2021 to April 2022. </p><p>The file 'ADCP_NOV2023.mat' is the raw ADCP data collected from April 2023 to November 2023. </p><p>The file 'CTDO_TimeSerie_Guafo_Jan2016_Oct2022_daily.xls' contains the time series of oxygen, salinity and temperature collected at the ADCP mooring from 2016 to 2022. Formalising a Gateway-based Blockchain Interoperability Solution with Event-B (Replication package)
<p>This repository holds the artefacts that raised the results of our first paper <em>Formalising a Gateway-based Blockchain Interoperability Solution with Event-B</em> to be presented at the <a href="https://icbc2024.ieee-icbc.org/workshop/crosschain" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ICBC Cross-chain workshop</a>.</p> <p>In this paper, we explore the formalisation of a gateway-based interoperability solution with Event-B. The results showed that the method was suitable and that a straightforward specification could be developed considering Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric as the involved blockchains. The Event-B specification was assessed with three strategies that enabled its verification and validation. In particular, formal verification (e.g. safety properties), functional validation, and functional utility. These promising results constitute a step forward in the development of formal specifications for blockchain interoperability solutions.</p> <p>The artefacts generated in this research were:</p> <ul> <li>An Event-B specification of the gateway-based interoperability solution proposed by <a href="https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10346168" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Pandolfi et al.</a>. This specification is composed of three machines: an abstract machine and two refinements. One refinement describes the behaviour of the gateway and smart contracts involved when the source blockchain is Ethereum and the target blockchain is Hyperledger Fabric. The second refinement describes the behaviour of the gateway and smart contracts when the source is Hyperledger Fabric and the target Ethereum.</li> <li>Animations of the three specifications (i.e. abstract and refinements) that enabled us to validate the functional behaviour of the specification and provided the means to understand the gateways' behaviour without Event-B knowledge.</li> <li>An Event-B specficiation of a use case scenario that shows the utility of the specification.</li> </ul>

Development Gateway shisha study qualitative data: Understanding factors influencing Shisha smoking in Nigeria
<p>79 qualitative transcripts from semi-structured interviews conducted across 13 states in Nigeria with either six (for Adamawa, Anambra, Ebonyi, Edo, FCT, Gombe, Kaduna, Kogi, Lagos, Oyo, Plateau and Rivers) or seven (Kano) qualitative transcripts per state. The transcripts are from a study exploring the following questions:</p> <ol> <li>What factors (demographic, social, cultural, behavioural, etc.) are associated with the use of shisha in Nigeria?</li> <li>What are the shisha use patterns and behaviours among those who use shisha in Nigeria?</li> </ol> <p>Respondents were self-reported current shisha users identified from public places that are known to provide spaces for use of shisha such as social clubs, night clubs, bars, pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Study participants had to be at least 18 years old to participate in the study.</p> <p>Topics covered in the interviews include respondent’s history of shisha smoking, perceived benefits from smoking shisha, awareness of health implications of smoking shisha, perceptions towards selected health risks of shisha smoking, use of sundry substances and other risky behaviours, and regulations Laws on shisha use in Nigeria.</p> <p>The data was collected between December 2021 and January 2022</p> <p>Also included with the dataset is the interview guide.</p> <p> </p>

Global Cenozoic Paleobathymetry with a focus on the Northern Hemisphere Oceanic Gateways
<p>We provide a set of paleobathymetric/topographic reconstructions for the Cenozoic time (66 - 0 Ma). We have re-evaluated the evolution of the Northern hemisphere oceanic gateways (i.e. the Fram Strait, Greenland – Scotland Ridge, the Central American Seaway, and the Tethys Seaway) and embedded their tectonic histories in a new global paleobathymetry and topography model. Our new paleobathymetry model incorporates Northeast Atlantic paleobathymetric variations due to Iceland mantle plume activity, updated regional plate kinematics, and models for the oceanic lithospheric age, sediment thickness, and reconstructed oceanic plateaus and microcontinents. We also provide a global paleotopography model based on new and previously published regional models.</p>
Data from: North Atlantic Gateway: test bed of deep-sea macroecological patterns
Aim: The deep waters around Iceland, known as the North Atlantic Gateway, constitute an ideal location to investigate deep-sea ecological hypotheses. Using ostracods, we constructed a comprehensive deep-sea macroecological dataset of the North Atlantic Gateway region and investigated the controlling factors of large-scale, deep-sea species diversity patterns. Location: Sub-polar North Atlantic Ocean Time period: Modern Major taxa studied: Ostracoda (Crustacea) Methods: We investigated deep-sea biodiversity patterns and applied ecological modeling (multiple regression and model averaging) to test whether these patterns are governed by environmental factors such as temperature, surface primary productivity, and seasonality. Beta diversity analyses were applied to evaluate the effect of a geographical barrier (Greenland-Iceland-Faeroe Ridge) on deep-sea benthic faunal distributions. Results: We constructed a deep-sea macroecological dataset with 32 stations, 5676 specimens, and 122 species. We confirmed a linear latitudinal diversity gradient with higher diversity in the North Atlantic proper than in the Nordic Seas. We report a unimodal depth diversity gradient south of the ridge, but a linear diversity-decline with depth north of the ridge. The turnover component of beta diversity increased toward the ridge. Main conclusions: We found both temperature and surface primary production are important for deep-sea biodiversity. For the first time, we report a significant diversity-temperature relationship in both macroecological (spatial; this study) and existing paleoecological (time-series) data for the same taxa. In addition to temperature and surface primary production, bathymetric features such as a shallow ridge acting as a barrier, are an important factor for deep-sea biodiversity distribution. The low diversity of the Nordic Seas is likely due to a combination of low temperatures and bathymetric barriers. These results substantially expand our understanding of the well-known yet poorly understood Greenland-Iceland-Faeroe Ridge faunal transition with possible insight to its cause.
