Gender and ethnic diversity of members of US university natural resource program external advisory board members, 2017-2022

This dataset contains deidentified demographics information for the members of external advisory boards that serve university natural resource programs. Data collected in 2017 and 2022 represents a sample of land-grant, National Association of University Forestry Program-affiliated, TIMES-ranked universities and colleges. Each row represents a member of an advisory board. Data collection was completed in two years: 2017 and 2022. Data was collected from department webpages and lists of advisory board members provided by department personnel. As needed, information was augmented through internet searches for public LinkedIn pages, organizational pages, local news stories, etc. Data include a unique respondent ID, a code for the university they are from, their employer affiliation (e.g., NGO, federal government, NR business, etc.) and their gender and ethnicity measured as binary variables.

GENDER DIVERSITY AND ITS IMPACT ON THE WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN THE WORKFORCE: WITH REFERENCE TO INDIAN CORPORATE SECTOR. (HRM: PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN THE WORK FORCE

<p>Gender roles have been two different sized fruits on the same tree branch since olden times.&nbsp;<br>The distinguished rule book for both males and females which had been followed for since&nbsp;<br>long still has its effects widely seen in the Indian corporate sector also. With the recurrent&nbsp;<br>fluctuation experienced in the women participation in the Indian workforce, the main pulling&nbsp;<br>back factor always has been Gender Diversity issues. There are many workplace factors&nbsp;<br>which infuse more power to this aspect called gender diversity; some of which are out of&nbsp;<br>one&rsquo;s control while many of which are manageable. These factors include salary range, job&nbsp;<br>positions, promotional opportunities, workplace behavior and many more. The list is endless,&nbsp;<br>but the impact of all the gamut of such aspects has to be borne by the female employees. This&nbsp;<br>paper is a descriptive analysis on the effect of various factors on the gender diversity issues in&nbsp;<br>Indian Corporate sector. Secondary data has been used in order to correlate the factors like&nbsp;<br>salary, promotional opportunities, and other factors in the corporate sector with the gender&nbsp;<br>diversity issues. The statistical evidences have been depicted with the help of graphs and pie&nbsp;<br>charts which would contribute in making the whole situation of diversity issues more crystal&nbsp;<br>clear and transparent for the readers. The paper is an attempt towards finding the in-depth&nbsp;<br>causes for the ups and downs in the women participation in the nations&rsquo; workforce and also to&nbsp;<br>bring about a change in the current plight of female workers in Indian Corporate sector</p>

Data from: Gender diversity of editorial boards and gender differences in the peer review process at six journals of ecology and evolution.

<p>Despite substantial progress for women in science, women remain underrepresented in many aspects of the scholarly publication process. We examined how the gender diversity of editors and reviewers changed over time for six journals in ecology and evolution (2003-2015 for four journals, 2007-2015 or 2009-2015 for the other two), and how several aspects of the peer review process differed between female and male editors and reviewers. We found that, for five of the six journals, women were either absent or very poorly represented as handling editors at the beginning of our dataset. The representation of women among handling editors increased gradually and consistently, with women making up 29% of the handling editors (averaged across journals) in 2015, similar to the representation of women as last authors on ecology papers (23% in 2015) but lower than the proportion of women among all authors (31%) and among members of the societies that own the journals (37-40%). The proportion of women among reviewers has also gradually but consistently increased over time, reaching 27% by 2015. Female editors invited more female reviewers than did male editors, and this difference increased with age of the editor. Men and women who were invited to review did not differ in whether they responded to the review invitation, but, of those that responded, women were slightly more likely to agree to review. In contrast, women were less likely than men to accept invitations to serve on journal editorial boards. Our analyses indicate that there has been progress in the representation of women as reviewers and editors in ecology and evolutionary biology, but women are still underrepresented among the gatekeepers of scholarly publishing relative to their representation among researchers.</p>

Polytypic, but subspecific taxonomy requires reassessment. Distribution. Widespread in S Asia (India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lan-ka), S China (W & S Yunnan), and mainland SE Asia N of the Isthmus of Kra. Descriptive notes. Head-body 68 mm, tail 105 mm, ear 13 mm, hindfoot 17 mm; weight 10 g. The Indomalayan Long-tailed Climbing Mouse is small, with flat nail on outer finger and outertoe; tail is slender, brown, twice as long as head-body length, and lacks distal tuft. Dorsal pelageis silky and salmon in color; venter is white, with fulvous hues. Habitat. Tall cane and tangled vines in primary and secondary forest such as bamboo forest, moist deciduous forest, temperate forests, montane wet zone, and disturbed secondary forests, and perhaps agricultural areas at elevations of 150-1500 m. Food and Feeding. Indomalayan [Long-tailed Climbing Mice eat fruits, buds, and flowers. Breeding. Litters of the Indomalayan Long-tailed Climbing Mouse have 3-6 young. Activity patterns. Indomalayan Long-tailed Climbing Mice are arboreal and nocturnal, although one individual was caught duringthe day. Movements, Home range and Social organization. Indomalayan Long-tailed Climbing Mice build nests in tall bushes or cane to rear their young. Status and Conservation. Classified as Least Concern on The IUCN Red Last (as V. olacea). The Indomalayan Long-tailed Climbing Mouse occurs in several habitats and a wide distribution that includes national parks.
