Images of Slow Moving Landslide in Panajachel Guatemala

Images taken with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro in two different flight modes, safe and continuous, divided into two different .rar files. Included are the coordinates for the 4 ground control points, marked with white calc x's in the images, as well as the orthomosaic created with the images in Agisoft Metashape.

The site is next to the highway 1 between Panajachel and San Andres Semetabaj in Solola Guatemala.

Coordinate system used is UTM Zone 15N based on WGS84.

The coordinates of points 2 - 5 are the four GCPs in the study area, with 5 being the take off and landing site. Point 1 represents the reference point approximately 1 km away, which was a previously placed permanent GCP. All points include the elevation ASL.

Figs 25–32 in New fossil genus and new extant species of diatoms (Stephanodiscaceae, Bacillariophyceae) from Pleistocene sediments in the Neotropics (Guatemala, Central America): adaptation to a changing environment?

Figs 25–32. Type material of fossil lacustrine diatom Cyclocostis rolfii Paillès gen. et sp. nov.; SEM external valve views. 25. Valve view of concentrically undulated marginal area and tangentially undulated central area; punctuated striae become in the central area rows of larger areolae arranged in a stellate pattern. 26. Valve surface with scattered papillae; the external opening of the single valve face fultoportula is located on the raised part (white arrowhead). 27. Marginal area showing the external openings of marginal fultoportulae, collared but with no projections (white arrowheads). 28. Side view of marginal area showing striation, papillae, external openings of marginal fultoportulae (mfp – two white arrows), and the cingulum consisting of an open valvocopula and several copulae (white arrow). 29. Detail of the central area with large areolae; external areolae are bigger and occluded by volae in places where ribs are fusing. 30. Broken valve view showing the different striation between the margins and the center, the steep transversal undulation and the valve thickness. 31. Marginal area with the external openings of marginal fultoportulae (white arrowheads), papillae, and the cingulum. 32. Broken valve view showing the simple structure of anastomosing ribs covered by a finely perforated silica layer. Scale bars: 25 = 5 µm; 26, 28–32 =2 µm; 27 = 1 µm (27).

A new subgenus of Bembidion Latreille from México and Guatemala, with descriptions of two new species (Coleoptera: Carabidae)

A new subgenus of Bembidion, Geocosmius subg. nov., is described from forests of México and Guatemala. Geocosmius includes Bembidion nahuala Erwin as its type species, as well as B. franiaeErwin, B. elescarabajo sp. nov., and additional forms similar to B. nahuala. In México this subgenus is widespread, ranging from Chiapas and Oaxaca north and west to Jalisco, Querétaro, and Hidalgo; most specimens are from cloud forests between 1700–2700m in elevation. A molecular phylogenetic analysis based upon eight genes indicates that Geocosmius is the sister group of subgenus Liocosmius, from western North America. In addition, a new species of subgenus Liocosmius, B. cachagua sp. nov., is described from three localities in California. Illumina sequencing was used to acquire DNA sequences of six pinned, dried specimens, which ranged in age from 24 to 57 years, allowing the phylogenetic placement of four of the studied species to be determined.
