FIGURE 2. Plot of the PCA results of the 13 log-transformed distance measurements (PC III) and 6 meristic measurements (PC I) of 48 Hylopanchax specimens: Hylopanchax sp. "Cameroon" (light blue; ZSM 30173 [5], ZSM 30175 [1], ZSM 30014 [2]), Hylopanchax silvestris (grey; ZSM 39319 [1], ZSM 39300 [8]), Hylopanchax moke, new species (green; ZSM 29750 [3], MRAC 102524–533 [10]), Hylopanchax ndeko, new species (dark blue; ZSM 29745 [1], ZSM 29766 [8]), Hylopanchax leki, new species (red; ZSM 40764 [1], ZSM 40765 [8]). Both PC I and PC II of distance measurements had comparatively high loadings of size measurements, which is the reason to plot PC III (explaining 1.59% of the total variance and with a loading of 0.75 for Anal fin base length [AB]) in combination with meristic PC I (explaining 80.09% of the total variance and with a highest loading of 0.58 for Dorsal fin ray counts [D] and 0.47 for Transversal scale counts (TS).
