FIGURE 1 in Species of Psilocybe (Hymenogastraceae) from Yunnan, southwest China

FIGURE 1. Phylogram inferred from analyses of a combined LSU and ITS dataset using MrBayes. Values above and below branches are posterior probabilities (pp≥0.80) and RAxML bootstrap (BS≥50%) values. For node with little difference between RAxML and BI analyses, only the pp value is displayed and BS value is not shown but indicated by '/'. The terminal taxa represent individual specimens with GenBank accession numbers. nrLSU and ITS numbers are indicated as LSU/ITS and the sequences that are lacking are not shown, and only one number is represented the sequence that is including nrLSU and ITS data. Species from Yunnan province and new sequences generated in this study are in bold.

Polythetic evidence supports the introduction of Hebeloma dipterocarpohilum sp. nov. (Hymenogastraceae, Agaricales), a lookalike of the edible H. parvisporum

Hebeloma dipterocarpohilum sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on materials collected from Northern Thailand. Microscopic characters’ drawings, basidiospores’ scanning microphotographs and pictures of the basidiomes are provided. Phylogenetic analyses based on DNA sequences of ITS and MCM7 gene regions were carried out to support species separation from the lookalike H. parvisporum. The novel species formed a well-supported clade with the closely related Hebeloma parvisporum. Micromorphologically, H. dipterocarpophilum has longer and broader cheilocystidia compared to H. parvisporum. Both species also differ in ecology, with H. dipterocarpohilum occurring in dry dipterocarp forests at elevations lower than 1,000 m a.s.l., whereas H. parvisporum is found at higher elevations, in Fagaceae-dominated forests without Dipterocarpaceae, in neighbouring Laos.

FIGURE 1. MrBayes phylogram inferred from partial internal transcribed spacer rDNA sequence data. The tree is rooted with Gymnopilus picreus. Maximum Likelihood showed the same result. Support values (MP> 90%) and posterior probabilities (PP> 0.90) are shown on each branch. The sequences of the new species are indicated by ●. The four main Galerina lineages are shown in different colors.
