<p>Foll. 1-6. هذه رسالة فی اعقاد اهل السنة و الجماعة تصنیف الشیخ الامام الزاهد العلامة قدوة المحدثین و زبدة المحققین موفَّق الدین ابی محمد عبدالله بن احمد بن محمد بن قدامة المقدسی رحه روایة الشیخ الامام تقی الدین ابی اسحق ابرهیم بن علی بن احمد بن فضل ابن الواسطی سمع منه فی رمضان سنة تسع عشرة و ستمائة روایة الحافظ جمال الدین ابی الحجاج یوسف المزی قراءة علیه یوم الثلثاء التاسع عشر من جمادی الاولی سنة خمس و سبعین و ستمائة روایة الشیخ علی بن ..<sup>1</sup> البکری عنه اجازة روایة شیخنا نور الملة و الدین محمد بن عبدالله عنه اجازة روایة محمود بن عثمن عنه اجازة.</p>

<p>A short treatise on the Orthodox Faith, by MUWAFFAḲ AL-DÎN ‘Abdallah b. Aḥmad IBN ḲUDAMAH Muḳaddasî (a Ḥanbalite, d. A.H. 620; see Ḥ. Kh. <em>passim</em>).</p>
<p>Begins: الحمدلله المحمود بکلّ لسان، المعبود فی کل زمان.</p>
<p>The <em>Ḥamdalah</em> leads directly to the first subject, the nature and attributes of God. The peculiar doctrines of the Ḥanbalites are prominently discussed.</p>
<p>Conclusion: هذا آخر المعتقد الخ.</p>
<p>There follows closely, after a <em>Basmalah</em>, a similar Ḥanbalî tract, on the attributes of God. It is introduced by the following Isnâd: اخبرنا الشیخ الامام الاجل الصالح الحافظ طاؤس العلماء ابو نصر ابرهیم بن الفضل السلفی الاصبهانی رحه قال اخبرنا الشیخ الصائن (!) ابو القاسم علی بن احمد بن کشوبة السُمیْرمیُّ رحه قراءة علیه قال اخبرنا الشیخ الفقیه الزاهد ابو جعفر محمد بن عبیدالله بن هاشم الخطیب قال کتب الیّ الشیخ ابوالقاسم سعد بن علی بن محمد الزنجانی رحه قال ذکر لی ابو سعد عبدالواحد ابنُ محمد قال سمعت بعض شیوخنا المحققین الخ.</p>
<p>Concludes (fol. 7<em>v</em>.):</p>
<p>تمت العقیدة الوحیدة البسیطة الوسیطة لمعرفته تعالی الخ.</p>
<p>Both tracts were written on the same day, the last of Jum. I., 793, by Maḥmûd b. ‘Othmân الکرمستی.<sup>1</sup></p>
<p>Then follow some traditions, terminating abruptly.</p>

<p>Foll. 8-29. The reply of Taḳî al-dîn Abu’l-‘Abbâs Aḥmad b. ‘Abd al-ḥalîm Ḥarrânî, commonly called IBN TAIMÎYAH (a Ḥanbalite, d. A.H. 728), to a question put to him regarding the “attributes of perfection” (صفات الکمال).</p>

<p>This question is prefixed to it. It begins:</p>
<p>الحمدلله...اما بعد فقد سئل الامام العلّامة شیخ الاسلام و مفتی فرق الانام ابو العباس احمد بن عبدالحلیم بن عبدالسلام العالم الربانی و البحر النورانی ابن تیمیّة الحرانی رضی الله عنه و ارضاه فقیل المسئول من علماء الاسلام و السادة الاعلام ان یدفعوا حجابَ الاجهال و یکشفوا قِناعَ الاشکال عن مقدمةٍ جمیع ارباب الملل و النحل متفقون علیها و مستندون فی ارائهم الیها حاشی مکابرا منهم معاندا و کافرا لربوبیّة الله تع جاحدا و هی ان یقال هذه صفة کمال فتجب لله اثباتها الخ.</p>
<p>The reply of IbnTaimîyah begins (fol. 9<em>v</em>.):</p>
<p>فاجاب رضه ...الجواب عن هذا السوال مبنی علی مقدمتین احداهما ان تعلم ان الکمال ثابت لله الخ.</p>
<p>Conclusion:</p>
<p>تم السوال المعروف بالکمال فی بیان الاکملیة لصفات الکبیر المتعال الذی له الکمال الذی لا یماثله فیه کمال.</p>
<p>Written by the same person as the preceding. Dated Saturday, 10<sup>th</sup> Rabî’ I., 797.</p>
