(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong></a>&nbsp;<strong>number 1033 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong></li> </ul> <p>1091</p> <p>Laṭ&acirc;&rsquo;if-allugh&acirc;t (لطائف اللغات).</p> <p>A special glossary to the mathnaw&icirc;, compiled by the same &lsquo;Abd-allaṭ&icirc;f bin &lsquo;Abdall&acirc;h al-&rsquo;Abb&acirc;s&icirc;, who prepared it for his intended revised edition of the text (as exhibited in the three preceding copies), from the Ḳ&acirc;m&ucirc;s (see Bodleian Cat., No. 1674), the Ṣur&acirc;ḥ (ib., Nos. 1645-1649), the Kanz-allugh&acirc;t (ib., No. 1670), the Farhang-i-Jah&acirc;ng&icirc;r&icirc;, by M&icirc;r Jam&acirc;l-ald&icirc;n Ḥusain Inj&ucirc; (ib., Nos. 1734-1746), the Kashf-allugh&acirc;t, by &lsquo;Abd-alraḥ&icirc;m bin Aḥmad S&ucirc;r (ib., Nos. 1721-1724), the Mad&acirc;r-alaf&acirc;ḍil, by Shaikh Il&acirc;hd&acirc;d Faiḍ&icirc; Sirhind&icirc; (ib., Nos. 1727 and 1728), the Mu&rsquo;ayyid-alfuḍal&acirc;, by Shaikh Muḥammad bin L&acirc;d (ib., No. 1720), and a great number of other dictionaries, etc. It is arranged alphabetically in this way, that the <em>first</em> letter constitutes the b&acirc;b and the <em>last</em> the faṣl. In most copies of this work there is stated above every word in red ink, whether it is Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Syriac, etc.; ع signifies Arabic ( عربى); ف Persian ( فارسى); ت Turkish ( تركى); س Syriac (سريانى); عف common to Arabic and Persian (كلمۀ که میانۀ عربى و فارسى مشترك است); تف common to Turkish and Persian ( لفظى كه ميانۀ تركى و فارسى مشترك باشد); فه common to Persian and Hind&ucirc;st&acirc;n&icirc; ( لفظى كه ميانۀ فارسى و هندى مختلطست); and عه common to Arabic and Hind&ucirc;st&acirc;n&icirc; ( آنچه میانۀ عربی و هندى ملتبس است). Pertsch, Berlin Cat., pp. 230 and 231.</p> <p>Beginning: اين فرهنگیست مشتمل بر حلّ لغات غريبۀ عربيّه و الالفاظ عجيبۀ عجميّۀ مثنوئ مولوئ معنوى الخ.</p> <p>The first word explained in this glossary is استثنا.</p> <p>Collated and annotated throughout. Dated by دلپت راى ابن جيتو جودهرى in Dh&ucirc;-alḥijjah, A.H. 1051 (A.D. 1642, March). The Laṭ&acirc;&rsquo;if-allugh&acirc;t (which have been lithographed under the title of فرهنگ مثنوى in Lucknow, 1877) end on fol. 182<sup>b</sup>.
