He died probably A.H. 525 (A.D. 1131), according to others A.H. 515 (A.D. 1121). Besides his Persian d&icirc;w&acirc;n he wrote two others, an Arabic and a Hind&ucirc;st&acirc;n&icirc; one, compare Bodleian Cat., No. 526; Butkh&acirc;na, No. 4 (ib., col. 197), and Daḳ&acirc;&rsquo;iḳ-alash&rsquo;&acirc;r (ib., col. 822); A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 485, and Journal of the Asiat. Soc. Of Bengal, vol. xxii, p. 442 sq.; see also Journal Asiatique, 5e s&eacute;rie, vol. ii (1853), p. 356 sq., and J. Aumer, p. 8.</p> <p>Contents:</p> <p>Ḳaṣ&icirc;das, ḳiṭ&rsquo;as, and ghazals, all mixed together, defective in the beginning.</p> <p>The first bait, on fol. 1a, runs thus:</p> <p>در كان زشرم چشمه ياقوت سرخ شد</p> <p>وين خرده ايست نيكو خاطر بدين گمار</p> <p>Rub&acirc;&rsquo;&icirc;s, on fol. 245a, beginning:</p> <p>چون مار فلك بست بافسون مارا</p> <p>وز خانۀ خود كشيد بيرون مارا</p> <p>That this really Mas&rsquo;&ucirc;d&rsquo;s d&icirc;w&acirc;n and not Kh&acirc;ḳ&acirc;ni&rsquo;s, as is wrongly stated on the fly-leaf, is proved by the frequent occurrence of the takhalluṣ, for instance, on fol. 9b, l. 6; fol. 76b, l. 11; fol. 117b, l. 8; fol. 195b, l. 1, etc. Some pages are a little injured. No date.</p> <p>No. 1424, ff. 282, 2 coll., each ll. 17; Nasta&rsquo;l&icirc;ḳ; size, 111/8 in. by 63/8 in.</p> <p><br> &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
