Complete poetical works of Mîr Ghulâm Ḥusain. with the taḳhalluṣ Shâ’iḳ, the son of Sayyid Fatḥ ‘Alî alraḍawî aljâlisî, who flourished under Ghâzî-aldîn Ḥaidar, the eldest son of Nawwâb Sa’âdat ‘Alîkhân of Oudh (Ghâzî-aldîn Ḥaidar succeeded his father as ruler of Oudh A.H. 1229=A.D. 1814, and died A.H. 1243=A.D. 1827, after a reign of thirteen years); another copy of these poems, styled ديوان شائق , is described in A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 569. Contents: Ḳaṣîdas, on fol. 1a, beginning: نور بخش مهر و ماه و لؤلؤ لالاستى جلوه ساز گلشن و هم لعل و هم خاراستى They are chiefly in praise of God, Muḥammad, and the Imâms. A mathnawî, containing stories based on legends and traditions of the prophet and Imâms, on fol. 17b, beginning: بنام خداوند ديّان دين – ضيا بخش دلها به نور يقين Ghazals, in alphabetical order, on fol. 35b, beginning: بدرد عشق تو دارم چو دين و دنيى را بريده ام زدل خويشتن تمنّى را Rubâ’îs, on fol. 99a, the first two not in the usual rubâ’î-metre; beginning of the initial quatrain: درد پنهان چو بدل داشتم از دلبر خويش الخ. Beginning of the first rubâ’î in the usual metre (the third of the series): اين سوزش عشقت بجگر داشتيست الخ. Ḳiṭ’as and chronograms, on fol. 103a, beginning: تنگ روزى چو شد و تلخى لش يكى از اهل عرب پشت دو تا The ta’rîkh on Mirzâ Jân Tapish’s death, quoted in Sprenger, is found here on fol. 107a: حالا بكسوف آمد سخن اردو (read ماه) ماهى = A.H. 1220 (A.D. 1805, 1806). Tapish of Dihlî was a well-known Rekhta poet who composed, among other works, a يوسف و زليخا in Hindûstânî, see A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 297. The last ta’rîkh is on the death of Sayyid Ḥasanbakhsh, which took place the 10th of Muḥarram, A.H. 1236 (A.D. 1820, Oct. 18). The collection winds up with a poetical prayer (فاتحة سيّد الشّهدا ) for Ḥusain, the martyr of Karbalâ. No. 2944, ff. 113, 2 coll., each ll. 12; large Nasta’lîḳ; size, 10 in. by 7 in.
