<p>3104. Size 7 in. by 4<sup>3/4</sup> in.; foll.168. Nineteen and seventeen lines in a page.</p>
<p><strong>I. Foll</strong>.1-110. A <em>Persian</em> Commentary (ممزوج) on <em>Taftâzânî’s</em> تهذيب المنطق (see no. 534).</p>
<p>Begins:</p>
<p>الحمد حمد در لغت وصفيست</p>
<p>Ends:</p>
<p>تمت الرسالة الموسومة بشرح الفارسى التهذيب فى ليلة الاثنين من شهر محرم الحرام سنة ٩٨٩ من الهجرة الخ.</p>
<p>Well written in Nasta’liḳ.</p>
<p><strong>II. Foll</strong>. 113-159. Glosses on the Commentary of Sa’d al-dîn<sup>1</sup> <em>Mas’ûd Rûmî</em> (Sharwânî, who flourished in the ninth century) on Shams al-dîn <em>Samarḳandî’s </em>(d. about A. H. 600) treatise on Dialectics آداب البحث (see no. 486). Cf. Aumer, Hdss. Münch. 298. The author of these glosses is not ascertained.</p>
<p>The preface begins:الحمدلله مفيض الوجود .</p>
<p>The author says subsequently:</p>
<p>و بعد فهذه رسالة من خواطر خاطری ... على شرح الرسالة المشهورة فيما بينهم فى الآداب للفاضل .... مولانا سعد الملة والدين مسعود الرومى تغمده الله بغفرانه .. علقتها عليه حين اشتغال جمع من الاذكياء باستكشافه عنى الخ</p>
<p>He dedicates his work to Jalâl al-din Maḥmûd.</p>
<p>Clearly written. The colophon runs as follows:</p>
<p>تمت الحاشية المسعودية على يد العبد ... حسين على الاسى (!) .. فى يوم الاثنين سابع شهر ربيع الاول سنة احدى و ثلثين و تسعمائة</p>
<p><strong>III. Foll</strong>. 160-163v. The same Glosses as described under no. <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5514209">585</a>, ii.</p>
<p>Closely written in Nasta’liḳ. Conclusion:</p>
<p>تمت الرسالة .. تاريخه سنة احدى و ثلثين و تسعمائة</p>
<p><strong>IV. Foll</strong>. 163<em>v</em>.168. A short logical treatise.</p>
<p>Begins:</p>
<p>اعلم ان العلم الذى قسموه الى التصور و التصديق عرفه بعضهم <sup>1</sup> بالصورة الحاصلة من الشىء عند الذات المجردة</p>
<p>The author of this treatise is not named. There are additional notes of his on the margin, marked with منه سلمه الله. He was, therefore, alive when this MS. was written, <em>i.e</em>. about A. H. 930.</p>
<p>Written like II. The colophon runs as follows:</p>
<p>وقد تم فى ربيع الاول المنتظم فى شهور سنة .. <sup>2</sup> ثلثين و تسعمائة </p>
<p>Partly injured by insects.</p>
<p>Signature of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Boddam">Chas. Boddam</a>, Calcutta, May 1st, 1787.</p>
