<p>Complete poetical works of Shams-aldîn Muḥammad bin ‘Abdallâh Kâtibî, who was born in Tarshîz, studied in Nishâpûr, and died at Astarâbâd A.H. 838 or 839 (A.D. 1434-1436), see Haft Iḳlim, No. 753, col. 433 in this Cat.; and comp. <p>Ḳiṭ’as, on fol. 83<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>شبى بمجلس ميراردشیر در رفتم</p>
<p>به بنده بود یکی قطعه بهتر از طبقی</p>
<p>Rubâ’îs, and some fards, on fol. 90<sup>a</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>ای خندۀ حسن گلعذاران از تو</p>
<p>وی گریۀ ابر نوبهاران از تو</p>
<p>This part is dated by the copyist Ni’mat-allâh bin ‘Inâyat-allâh the 14th of Rabî’-alawwal, A.H. 1007 (A.D. 1598, Oct. 15).</p>
<p><em>First</em> mathnawî, the Gulshan-i-Abrâr (گلشن ابرار), or ‘Rose-garden of the Pure,’ an imitation of Niżâmî’s Makhzan-alasrâr, incomplete at the beginning, on fol. 100<sup>a</sup>. The first bait found here runs thus:</p>
<p>جذبۀ لطفت چو کمند افگند</p>
<p>هر دو جهانرا ز سمند افگند</p>
<p>This is the 214th bait of the poem, corresponding to fol. 193<sup>a</sup>, l. 15, in No. 223 (1292 in this Cat.).</p>
<p><em>Second</em> mathnawî, entitled Sî Nâma (سى نامه), or the ‘Thirty Epistles,’ on fol. 116<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>زهى سى نامه ام نامى ز نامت</p>
<p>حديثم حرفى از جزو كلامت</p>
<p>Copied the 19th of Muḥarram, A.H. 1007 (A.D. 1598, Aug. 22).</p>
<p><em>Third</em> mathnawî (or risâlah, as it is styled in the colophon), on fol. 152<sup>b</sup>, entitled Dilrubâi (دلرباى), or ‘the Charmer,’ an allegorical poem, beginning:</p>
<p>زهى روح را رحمتت رائحه – كلام مرا حمد تو فاتحه</p>
<p><em>Fourth</em> mathnawî, entitled Majma’-albaḥrain (مجمع البحرين), or ‘Combination of the two seas or metres,’ also styled Nâżir u Manżûr (ناظر و منظور), on fol. 166<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>اى شده از قدرت تو ما و طين</p>
<p>لوحۀ دیباچۀ دنیا و دین</p>
<p><em>Fifth</em> mathnawî, entitled Dah bâb (ده باب), or the ‘Ten Chapters,’ on fol. 198<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>اى برحمت عالمى را كارساز</p>
<p>جمله عالم را برحمت كارساز</p>
<p>This mathnawî is identical with the Tajnîsât (تجنيسات) of W. Pertsch, pp. 76, 77 (comp. A. Sprenger, Catal., p. 458).</p>
<p>Ḳaṣîdas, interspersed with tarjî’bands, musaddasât, etc., on fol. 231<sup>b</sup>, beginning:</p>
<p>سپاس و حمد ترا زیبد ای محقّق بر حق</p>
<p>كه حامدند ترا مطلقا مقيّد و مطلق</p>
<p>The initial ḳaṣîdah of No. 867 of the Bodleian Cat., of the British Museum copies, Sprenger’s copy, etc., is here the second, on fol. 232<sup>b</sup>. Ff. 22-38 are misplaced, the right order is: 21, 24-30, 22, 23, 32-37, 31, 38.</p>
