Thirty-one lines in a page.</p> <p>A Commentary on the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sahih_al-Bukhari"><em>Ṣ</em><em>a</em><em>ḥîḥ</em></a>, entitled <a href="https://bukhari.islamweb.net/handle/1234/7436">غایة التوضیح للجامع الصحیح</a>, by ‘OTHMÂN b. Ibrâhîm Ṣiddîḳî Ḥanafî, who appears to have lived in the tenth century of the Hijrah.</p> <p>The author says in his preface that he compiled his work from the commentaries of <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2004042364.html">Karmânî</a>, ‘<a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q471116">Asḳalânî</a>, <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nr92013894.html">Ḳastalânî</a>, and <a href="https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n85203389.html">Zarkashî</a>, and also, in the first portion, from the فیض الباری, a commentary by Saiyid ‘Abd al-awwal [ed. note. apparently <a href="https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.282580/page/n147/mode/2up?q=Zaidpuri">Saiyid 'Abd al-Awwal b. 'Ali al-Din b. Hasan Husaini Zaidpuri</a>]. There precedes (foll. 2-6) an introduction in nine sections (فصل), treating in general of the science of tradition, of <a href="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q241026">Bukhârî</a>, of the names and chronology of traditionists, etc. The commentary itself consists of annotations on single passages of the text, the first words of which are only given, introduced by قوله.</p> <p>Begins:</p> <p> الحمدلله الذی شرح صدور المحدثین بالهام السنة النبویة</p> <p>Written in different hands, about A.
