Raw data for the submitted manuscript entitled "Prospective Scenarios for Addressing the Agricultural Plastic Waste Issue: Results of a Territorial Analysis"
<p><span>Agricultural activities have been positively affected by the use of plastic products, but this has resulted in the production of plastic waste and led to an increase in environmental pollution. </span><span>This file concerns plastic waste indices to different crop types and plastic products allowed quantifying and georeferencing actual plastic waste production. Two improved scenarios were considered, the first consisted of extending the lifespan of some plastics, and the second entailed the introduction of some biodegradable alternatives. </span></p>
MOSAiC Cloudnet issue data set
<p>This data set contains information on possible data issues caused by external drivers (e.g. tethered balloon artefacts in the observations) related to the MOSAiC Cloudnet data set. Flagged data must be handled with care and should be excluded from statistical analyses. Issues tracking flags are identified by tethered balloon operation periods and experienced-eye observations of MOSAiC staff.</p>

<p>An example of .bin file that have an IndexError when processing.</p> <p>Consider <a title="#120 OxWearables / stepcount issue" href="https://github.com/OxWearables/stepcount/issues/120" target="_blank" rel="noopener">#120 OxWearables / stepcount issue</a> for more details.</p> <p>The .csv files are 1-second epoch conversions from the .bin file and contain <em>time</em>, <em>x</em>, <em>y</em>, <em>z</em> columns. The conversion was done by: </p> <ol> <li>reading the .bin with the <a title="GENEAread R package" href="https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/GENEAread/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GENEAread R package</a>.</li> <li>keeping only the time, x, y and z columns.</li> <li>saving the data.frame into a .csv file.</li> </ol> <p>The only difference between the .csv files is the column format used for the time column before saving:</p> <ul> <li>time column in XXXXXX_....csv had a string class</li> <li>time column in XXXXXT....csv had a "POSIXct" "POSIXt" class</li> </ul>
trove-newspaper-issues
<p>This dataset contains information about the published issues of newspapers digitised and made available through Trove. The data was harvested from the Trove API, using <a href="https://glam-workbench.net/trove-newspapers/harvest_newspaper_issues/">this notebook in the GLAM Workbench</a>.</p> <p>There are two data files:</p> <ul> <li><code>newspaper_issues_totals_by_year.csv</code> – the total number of newspaper issues per year for each digitised newspaper</li> <li><code>newspaper_issues.csv</code> – a complete list of newspaper issues available from Trove</li> </ul> <h2>newspaper_issues_totals_by_year.csv</h2> <p>The dataset contains the following columns:</p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td><strong>Column</strong></td> <td><strong>Contents</strong></td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>title</code></td> <td>newspaper title</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>title_id</code></td> <td>newspaper id</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>state</code></td> <td>place of publication</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>year</code></td> <td>year published</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>issues</code></td> <td>number of issues</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <h2>newspaper_issues.csv</h2> <p>The dataset contains the following columns:</p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td><strong>Column</strong></td> <td><strong>Contents</strong></td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>title</code></td> <td>newspaper title</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>title_id</code></td> <td>newspaper id</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>state</code></td> <td>place of publication</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>issue_id</code></td> <td>issue identifier</td> </tr> <tr> <td><code>issue_date</code></td> <td>date of publication (YYYY-MM-DD)</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>To keep the file size down, I haven't included an <code>issue_url</code> in this dataset, but these are easily generated from the <code>issue_id</code>. Just add the <code>issue_id</code> to the end of <code>http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-issue</code>. For example: <a href="http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-issue495426">http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-issue495426</a>. Note that when you follow an issue url, you actually get redirected to the url of the first page in the issue.</p>

Documentary sources of case studies on the issues a data protection officer faces on a daily basis
<p>The dataset contains the text of the documents that are sources of evidence used in [1] and [2] to distill our reference scenarios according to the methodology suggested by Yin in [3].</p> <p>The dataset is composed of 95 unique document texts spanning the period 2005-2022. This dataset makes available a corpus of documentary sources useful for outlining case studies related to scenarios in which the DPO finds himself operating in the performance of his daily activities.</p> <p>The language used in the corpus is mainly Italian, but some documents are in English and French. For the reader's benefit, we provide an English translation of the title of each document.</p> <p>The documentary sources are of many types (for example, court decisions, supervisory authorities' decisions, job advertisements, and newspaper articles), provided by different bodies (such as supervisor authorities, data controllers, European Union institutions, private companies, courts, public authorities, research organizations, newspapers, and public administrations), and redacted from distinct professional roles (for example, data protection officers, general managers, university rectors, collegiate bodies, judges, and journalists).</p> <p>The documentary sources were collected from 31 different bodies. Most of the documents in the corpus (a total of 83 documents) have been transformed into Rich Text Format (RTF), while the other documents (a total of 12) are in PDF format. All the documents have been manually read and verified.<br> The dataset is helpful as a starting point for a case studies analysis on the daily issues a data protection officer face. Details on the methodology can be found in the accompanying papers.</p> <p>The available files are as follows:</p> <ul> <li><strong>documents-texts.zip</strong> --> contain a directory of .rtf files (in some cases .pdf files) with the text of documents used as sources for the case studies. Each file has been renamed with its SHA1 hash so that it can be easily recognized.</li> <li><strong>documents-metadata.csv</strong> --> Contains a CSV file with the metadata for each document used as a source for the case studies.</li> </ul> <p>This dataset is the original one used in the publication [1] and the preprint containing the additional material [2].</p> <p>[1] F. For example, "Aviso de Acumulado de Chuva", "Aviso de Tempestade", "Aviso de Declínio de Temperatura".</li> <li><em>TIMESTAMPDATEONSE</em>: Unix timestamp of the minimum time at which the event is expected to start.</li> <li><em>TIMESTAMPDATEEXPIRES</em>: Unix timestamp of the maximum at which the event is expected to occur or the warning expires.</li> <li><em>COLORRISK</em>: Event colour in hexadecimal following the INMET nomenclature, with yellow meaning potential danger, orange indicating danger, and red indicating great danger.</li> <li><em>BASESOURCE</em>: INMET RSS XML file from which the warning was extracted.</li> </ul>
Dataset: Ethical Issues in Empirical Studies using Student Subjects: Re-visiting Practices and Perceptions
<p># Dataset for Paper "Ethical Issues in Empirical Studies using Student Subjects: Re-visiting Practices and Perceptions" - Rev 1#</p> <p>This is the dataset for the paper titled "Ethical Issues in Empirical Studies using Student Subjects: Re-visiting Practices and Perceptions". All mapping study data has the prefix *MAP*, while all survey data the prefix *SUR*. It has been updated for a major revision at Springer Empirical Software Engineering (Rev 1).</p> <p>In case of questions, feel free to contact the author, Grischa Liebel, ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3884-815X, current affiliation and email: Reykjavik University, Iceland, grischal@ru.is</p> <p>## Systematic Mapping Study ##<br> The mapping study data is mainly contained in the *MAPmappingStudy.xlsx* file. Different tabs are used for the two phases: exclusion by title and abstract (tab *title_abs*), and exclusion by fulltext (tab *fulltextScreening*). The final set of papers is obtained by filtering the *fulltextScreening* tab by included papers (Column V).</p> <p>The tab *fulltextScreening* contains a number of columns named \*range (e.g., *noStudentsRange*). These columns contain the unified/categorised values for the verbatim values listed in the column with the same name without *range*. For instance, *noStudentsRange* contains the range of students in the primary study, while *noStudents* contains the actual number obtained from the studies.</p> <p>The file *MAPvenues.txt* contains the included venues in the mapping study.</p> <p>Finally, the raw search results are provided as BIB/RIS files with the prefix *MAPRAW*.</p> <p>## Survey ##<br> The survey folder contains the survey pages (named *surveyPageN.pdf*), as well as the raw data in *surveyDataAnon.xlsx*. Note that free-text answers have been aggregated, anonymised, and sorted alphabetically in individual tabs. Similarly, countries that only occur once have been changed to Do Not Disclose answers, and all answers have been sorted randomly. All questions are listed by their acronym. The corresponding questions, as well as possible answers, are described in the *QuestionKey* tab.</p>
