Dataset from Osika and Jania (2024): Geomorphological and historical records of the surge-type behaviour of Hansbreen (Svalbard)

Geomorphological map of the terrestrial and submarine forefield of Hansbreen

This dataset contains shapefiles of geomorphological features in the terrestrial and submarine forefield of Hansbreen, a marine-terminating glacier in Hornsund (southern Spitsbergen, Svalbard), associated and described further in Osika and Jania (2024).

Field investigation was conducted in 2021-2023. Mapping was performed in QGIS 3.22 using the WGS84/UTM33N spatial reference system and based on several datasets:

a very high-resolution orthophotomap and DEM generated and published by Błaszczyk et al. (2022),

bathymetric data generated and published by Błaszczyk et al. (2021) and from Kartverket.

For detailed information about data sources used for mapping, see:

Błaszczyk M and 12 others (2021) Factors controlling terminus position of Hansbreen, a tidewater glacier in Svalbard. FIGURE 1. Maximum Likelihood (ML) tree constructed from psbA alignment. Approximate Likelihood Ratio Test (aLRT) values followed by ML bootstrap (%) are shown above and Bayesian Posterior Probabilities (PP) are shown below each branch. Only support values greater than 0.8 (aLRT), 80% (Bootstrap) and 0.8 (PP) are shown. Scale bar represents substitutions per site. Voucher numbers (Table 1) for new specimens are included in brackets after the name. Jania sp. nov. type locality specimen shown in bold.

Approximate Likelihood Ratio Test (aLRT) values followed by ML bootstrap (%) are shown above and Bayesian Posterior Probabilities (PP) are shown below each branch. Only support values greater than 0.8 (aLRT), 70% (Bootstrap) and 0.8 (PP) are shown. Support values are shown if two of the values reach the cut-off. Scale bar represents substitutions per site. Voucher numbers (Table 1) for new specimens are included in brackets after the name. Jania sp. nov. type locality specimen shown in bold.
FIGURE 2 in Molecular systematics of Jania species (Corallinales, Rhodophyta) from south-eastern Australia based on cox1 and psbA DNA sequence analyses
FIGURE 2. Bayesian phylogenetic tree of Jania species (Rhodophyta) based on cox1 gene with focus on specimens from south-eastern Australia. Numbers above branches represent posterior probabilities (values <0.5 were omitted). Some branches were shortened to fit the figure. Specimens sequenced in this study marked in bold and have their herbarium code identified. Colored columns indicate species delimitation methods results: ABGD; ASAP P (p-value partition), ASAP W (w rank partition); GMYC S (single-threshold), GMYC M (multiple-threshold); PTP B (Bayesian inference), PTP M (Heuristic or Maximum Likelihood); and SPN 95% and 99% of parsimony probability limit. Black column indicates the consensus across all species delimitation results. Numbers below to each column indicate the total number of species partitions for each method or the consensus. Jania squamata in the PTP B result was divided into three different species.

Numbers above branches represent non-parametric bootstrap support (values <70 omitted). Species names are followed by GenBank accession number and specimen locality (for sequences downloaded from GenBank), or species name, herbarium codes for all specimens sharing that particular haplotype, and specimen locality (marked in bold for sequences produced in this study). Scale bar = substitutions per site.
