Water chemistry and aquatic vegetation data from Les Cheneaux Islands, Northern Lake Huron, Michigan, USA, 2016-2018
Remote sensing approaches that could identify species of submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and measure their extent in lake littoral zones would greatly enhance their study and management, especially if they can provide faster or more accurate results than traditional field methods. Remote sensing with multispectral sensors can provide this capability, but SAV identification with this technology must address the challenges of light extinction in aquatic environments where chlorophyll, dissolved organic carbon, and suspended minerals can affect water clarity and the strength of the sensed light signal. Here, we present environmental data collected to support a study using an unmanned aerial system (UAS)-enabled methodology to identify the extent of the invasive SAV species Myriophyllum spicatum (Eurasian watermilfoil, or EWM) in the Les Cheneaux Islands area of northwestern Lake Huron, Michigan, USA. Data collected includes water chemistry (nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon, suspended solids, chlorophyll a), light profiles, and submerged aquatic vegetation characteristics including cover, species dominance using aquatic vegetation survey methods (AVAS), and biomass.

Perspectives de linguistique de corpus sur les formations superlatives latines (-ISSIMUS) dans l'histoire du français - Research data

In this article, we analyze the development of the Latin suffix -issimus and its French equivalent -issime from a corpus linguistic perspective. For this purpose, we define three different periods in the history of the French language in the Frantext corpus and examine the frequency of -issime. By investigating Old and Middle French, Pre-classical and Classical French, as well as Modern French, we can show that there is a continuous increase in forms ending on -issime. However, the results also show that the increased use of these forms is mainly limited to some adjectives (such as sérénissime etc.). In addition, the findings underline the fact that the superlative forms on -issime (mainly as neologisms) are increasingly appearing in fictional writings nowadays, where they are used in a playful or ironic way.

Designing Data-Driven Battery Prognostic Approaches for Variable Loading Profiles: Some Lessons Learned
Among various approaches for implementing prognostic algorithms data-driven algorithms are popular in the industry due to their intuitive nature and relatively fast developmental cycle. However, no matter how easy it may seem, there are several pitfalls that one must watch out for while developing a data-driven prognostic algorithm. One such pitfall is the uncertainty inherent in the system. At each processing step uncertainties get compounded and can grow beyond control in predictions if not carefully managed during the various steps of the algorithms. This paper presents analysis from our preliminary development of data- driven algorithm for predicting end of discharge of Li-ion batteries using constant load experiment data and challenges faced when applying these algorithms to randomized variable loading profile as is the case in realistic applications. Lessons learned during the development phase are presented.
