Chinese Lacquer Shanxi Console Table
This simple table comes from Shanxi, china, circa 1880 and still has its original dark wood lacquer finish and more recently added, although still very old unusual hardware. Its tapered legs and 'horse hoof' feet add charm and elegance to this small console table. With two useful small drawers, this was probably once used as a small desk but would look great today as a dressing table or as a console table in a hallway or reception room. <p>Data from the project "Cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver objects" (RAÄ-2021-3131). Each zip file contains an Instrument report file which gives sample names and descriptions, instrument parameters, spectra figures and in some report interpretation notes. Data from the following analytical techniques is included: 1. Scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS); 2. Polarized light microscopy (PLM); 3. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).</p> <p>Data was collected as a continuation of (but after the publication of) the bachelor theses "A greener solution: Investigating the potential use of Green Solvents to remove cellulose nitrate lacquer from silver objects" by Evelina Borén (https://hdl.handle.net/2077/72648) and "The use of gels for the removal of cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver" by Katayon Miri (https://hdl.handle.net/2077/72650), both at the Department for Conservation, University of Gothenburg. <strong>The project is also part of a larger invesitgation about removing cellulose nitrate lacquer on silver objects, supported by European Union funded IPERION HS project (2020-INFRAIA-2019-1),.......</strong></p> <p>Instrument reports including technical specifications of each instrument can also be found under DOI 10.5281/zenodo.10869595 . </p>

<p>Videograbación breve (6:00 minutos) del proceso de realización de una lámina enlacada (<em>lacquer peel</em>) de los depósitos de paleoinundación pleistocenos (58.000 años BP) situados en la base de la secuencia sedimentaria del yacimiento arqueológico musteriense del Abrigo del Molino (Segovia, Segovia, Castilla y León, España). Se van describiendo con imágenes todas las fases de realización: apertura del perfil y perfilado; aplicación de la laca; colocación de la gasa de algodón y nueva aplicación de laca; secado; arrancado; limpieza con agua; lijado y cortado; y almacenamiento para su estudio y difusión.</p> <p>Financiado por el proyecto “Investigación científica en morfodinámica sedimentaria y paleohidrología aplicadas a la gestión de sistemas fluviales” (Tarquín; GESTEC 3157), de la Actuación 3 de la Subvención nominativa anual de la Resolución de la Dirección General del Agua por la que se concede una Subvención a la Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, M.P. (CSIC) prevista en la Ley de Presupuestos Generales del Estado para el año 2022, para financiar las labores en materia de investigación en recursos e infraestructuras hidráulicas. </p>
