FIGURE 1. Phylogenetic relationships within Myrmillinae with double-spotted metasoma from the Palaearctic Region: single most-parsimonious tree (Length = 108, CI = 65, RI = 80) based on 58 non-additive characters (Appendix 1), all characters having equal weight or applying various levels of implied weighting (see Materials and methods). Character numbers, under slow optimization, appear above the hashmarks and state numbers below; asterisks (*) indicate characters unambiguously placed (position not changing under fast optimization). Solid hashmarks indicate unique changes, and open hashmarks are homoplasies. Estimated GC branch-support values based on symmetric resampling are also shown (see Materials and methods).
