Sample Records: Disinformation as a strategy of obstructionism on climate action: analysis of the limitations of the scientific literature for a systemic understanding of the phenomenon

The project contains several underlying datasets essential for replicating the study's findings. The dataset 01.1_PRIMERPRISMA_IDENTIFICATION.xlsx includes the initial selection of 6 general terms related to environment and sustainability and 11 specific terms related to disinformation, summarizing the selected keywords, generated Boolean operators, and initial search results, yielding 783 records. The 01.2_PRIMER PRIMA-SCREENING.xlsx file details the screening process, eliminating duplicates and non-English documents, resulting in 271 retained records. The 01.3_PRIMER PRISMA_INCLUDED.xlsx file contains results after further screening, retaining 82 documents with expanded bibliometric details. The 02.1_SEGUNDOPRISMA_IDENTIFICATION.xlsx file documents the second phase of identification using new terms related to climate and disinformation, retrieving 174 records. The 02.2_SEGUNDOPRISMA_SCREENING.xlsx file includes the screening process for the second phase, reducing records to 75, with an abstract review retaining 2 documents. The 02.3_SEGUNDOPRISMA_INCLUDED.xlsx file integrates documents from both search phases and other sources, culminating in a final review of 86 documents. The 3.1_Other sources.xlsx file includes additional relevant sources identified during the review process. Finally, the 4-Final included.xlsx file contains the final set of 75 publications subjected to the DESLOCIS analysis model.

Domain-Specific Language domain analysis and evaluation: a systematic literature review

In order to successfully implement Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs), it is needed to systematically define and to support its development process; namely its Evaluation and the Domain Analysis phase. For that purpose, the studies were systematically selected from the most relevant venues that focus on the implementation of DSLs, in order to get insight if and how these development phases were performed. The special focus was given to the human-machine DSLs (excluding the machine-machine languages), the involvement of its end-users in the development process and the evaluation of DSLs usability, i.e. quality in use of DSLs.

Preliminary results give us a notion that there is increased the state of practice of performing the evaluation of the DSLs, mostly including usability concerns, at least after its implementation. Generally, the quality of the reviewed studies was high. On another hand, rarely the assessments are done during domain analysis, which in general is not reporting inclusion of end-users or consideration of different use-cases, although the majority of studies refer to target non-programmers and to contribute easy in use.

We did collect the valuable body of primary studies that are giving us answers to our research questions, however, to raise the credibility of the conclusions we should extend the analysis to other venues. Also, as we get insights into the categorization of practices we could specify more concretely answers that would give us means to perform more detailed meta-analysis.

BEYOND_WP1_T1.1_Literature review_overview of literature list and Analysis.

Data sets for D1.1. The first part of this deliverable is a scoping review of the literature examining 147 articles published
in peer review academic journals over the past ten years (2013-2023) on the promotion of research
ethics and integrity (REI), and breaches of these standards including research misconduct (RM) and
questionable research practices (QRPs). It also identifies current challenges, gaps in knowledge and
practice, and opportunities for both further research, and policy and educational interventions to
promote REI and mitigate RM and QRPs. Findings on state-of-the-art knowledge in REI research
suggest some areas of consensus, including on the greater risks for early career researchers to commit
RM and the value of responsible conduct of research (RCR) training, particularly approaches that
emphasize ethical problem-solving skills. However, the study also identified a lack of consensus in
other areas, including the rehabilitation and reintegration of researchers who committed RM. Key
findings extracted from the review contribute to the understanding that the environment in which
researchers operate and other contextual factors significantly influence RCR, rather than primarily the
individual behavior of researchers. As such, these environmental and contextual factors require further
research and policy attention.

Expert-based literature review on RRI indicators for science education assessment: PERFORM analysis matrix

The document contains the main variables and categories of analysis of the expert-based literature review conducted as part of the assessment impact developed in the PERFORM project. This literature review globally aimed to identify and characterize assessment frameworks used in the context of science learning and engagement with young people. Specifically, it examined the operationalization of: i) RRI values and process requirements, ii) transversal competences, iii) experiential aspects, and iv) cognitive aspects. In doing that assessment gaps and challenges where identified relevant to the context of PERFORM and, more broadly, to the development of science education assessments incorporating the RRI dimension. By assessment framework we refer to a set of interlinked criteria, practices and concepts providing a systematic way of data collection, analysis and interpretation to the study of science learning and engagement. The template for data collection was organised in different sections approaching the following specific review questions and sub-questions:

What assessment frameworks can be identified in the selected sample?

On which disciplines are they based?

What is being assessed in these frameworks?

How it is the evaluation conducted?

What are the challenges of each approach for assessing science learning and engagement?

How are transversal competences, RRI and emotional factors included in these frameworks?

How are these notions operationalised?

What kinds of evaluation indicators are applied for data collection, if any?

Digital Twins: A Systematic Literature Review Based on Data Analysis and Topic Modeling

The digital twin has recently become a popular topic in research related to manufacturing, such as Industry 4.0, the industrial internet of things, and cyber-physical systems. In addition, digital twins are the focus of several research areas: construction, urban management, digital transformation of the economy, medicine, virtual reality, software testing, and others. The concept is not yet fully defined, its scope seems unlimited, and the topic is relatively new; all this can present a barrier to research. The main goal of this paper is to develop a proper methodology for visualizing the digital-twin science landscape using modern bibliometric tools, text-mining and topic-modelling, based on machine learning models—Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and BERTopic (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers). The scope of the study includes 8693 publications on the topic selected from the Scopus database, published between January 1993 and September 2022. Keyword co-occurrence analysis and topic-modelling indicate that studies on digital twins are still in the early stage of development. At the same time, the core of the topic is growing, and some topic clusters are emerging. More than 100 topics can be identified; the most popular and fastest-growing topic is ‘digital twins of industrial robots, production lines and objects.’ Further efforts are needed to verify the proposed methodology, which can be achieved by analyzing other research fields.

The growth of COVID-19 scientific literature: A forecast analysis of different daily time series in specific settings

Submitted to The ISSI 2021 Conference. The conference is organised by KU Leuven in close collaboration with the university of Antwerp under the auspices of ISSI – the International Society for Informetrics and Scientometrics (http://www.issi-society.org/).

We present a forecasting analysis on the growth of scientific literature related to COVID-19 expected for 2021. Considering the paramount scientific and financial efforts made by the research community to find solutions to end the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented volume of scientific outputs is being produced. This questions the capacity of scientists, politicians and citizens to maintain infrastructure, digest content and take scientifically informed decisions. A crucial aspect is to make predictions to prepare for such a large corpus of scientific literature. Here we base our predictions on the ARIMA model and use two different data sources: the Dimensions and World Health Organization COVID-19 databases. These two sources have the particularity of including in the metadata information on the date in which papers were indexed. We present global predictions, plus predictions in three specific settings: by type of access (Open Access), by NLM source (PubMed and PMC), and by domain-specific repository (SSRN and MedRxiv). We conclude by discussing our findings.
