Report of the Focus Group with Maghreb-based Stakeholders

<p>As part of the MENARA project, Al-Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) organized a focus group in&nbsp;Rabat (Morocco) on 11 July 2018&nbsp;with various scholars and experts from the Maghreb and those&nbsp;working in the region. The discussions were linked to the&nbsp;general aims of the MENARA project (to&nbsp;characterize the regional order, define scenarios and discuss the policy options for the EU) and&nbsp;was structured in four parts:<br> 1. Peculiarities and commonalities of the Maghreb in relation to the broader Middle East and&nbsp;North Africa (MENA) region<br> 2. State&ndash;society dynamics<br> 3. Regional conflicts<br> 4. The role of the EU and other external actors</p> <p>This report contains the summary of the discussion during the focus group.</p>
