Summary phylogeny derived from that of Colloff & Cameron (2013) showing relatedness of the species groups in Malaconothridae and whether their biogeographical distribution indicates divergence before or after the break up of Pangaea around 200 mya. The divergence of the Malaconothridae from the other Nothrina has been dated to ca. 333 mya (Schaefer et al., 2010).
