Subsurface Water Temperatures taken in Shark River Slough and Taylor Slough, Everglades National Park (FCE LTER), Florida, USA, May 2010 - December 2015
At each site, two vertical columns of temperature sensors (107-L Temperature Probes, Campbell Scientific, Logan, Utah) were installed and connected to data loggers (CR1000 Dataloggers, Campbell Scientific, Logan, Utah). At each, one temperature sensor in a heat shield was installed 2 m above the ground surface. The remaining temperature sensors were installed at or below the ground surface, with the depths and depth intervals depending upon the total depth of the column. The data were collected hourly between May 19, 2010 and December 1, 2015.
Survey of high marsh plant structure and biomass for Spartina, Juncus, Borrichia and Batis specimens on Sapelo Island, Georgia during May to June 2015
From May 29th to June 27th of 2015, plant specimens of Spartina, Juncus, Borrichia, and Batis were extracted from Georgia Coastal Ecosystems Study Site 6 and brought to the UGA Marine Institute research center for structural and biomass measurements. The focus of the structural measurements were to capture the top-down horizontal length and branching angles of rhizomes connecting the above-ground plant shoots. The height of plant shoots were also measured, along with the dry-weight mass of all measured plant components. The purpose of these measurements was to provide data that will be the basis for parameter values used in the Virtual Prairie agent-based model for clonal plant growth and competition. Note that a web-based index of plant photographs from this study are available at http://gce-lter.marsci.uga.edu/public/datasets/ancillary/PLT-GCET-1508/.
Composition and biolability of dissolved organic matter from arctic and boreal streams April 2015 - May 2016
In this study, we collected samples throughout the year from up to eight streams along an arctic-boreal gradient in interior Alaska, ranging from discontinuous to continuous permafrost. We measured dissolved organic matter (DOM) biolability and nutrient limitation of decomposition through laboratory incubations of streamwater, and characterized DOM composition through optical properties and chemical analysis.

Ireland S1A Complex Mosaic (May 2015)
<p>This multi-temporal colour composite by Sentinel-1A features land coverage and use across Ireland. The mosaic was generated by stitching together 16 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images acquired within a 12 day period, during May 2015. The RGB composite shows InSAR coherence (Red), average backscatter (Green) and difference in backscatter intensity (Blue) from Sentinel-1A VV pol. data. Data accessed via the Sentinels Scientific Data Hub (scihub.copernicus.eu) and processed using SNAP/S1 Toolbox (step.esa.int). All Sentinel-1 results available for download are Derived Works of Copernicus data (2015), subject to the Terms and Conditions for the use and distribution of Sentinel Data.</p> <p>Full story at http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2016/04/Irish_mosaic.</p>
