Experimental Demonstration of In-Memory Computing in a Ferrofluid System
<p>Measurements that demonstrate the feasibility of in-memory computing using an amorphous ferrofluid system (in a liquid aggregation state). This work poses the basis for the exploitation of a colloid as both an in-memory computing device and as a full-electric liquid computer thanks to its fluidity and the reported complex dynamics, via probing read-out and programming ports.</p>
Memory B Cells and Their Transcriptomic Profiles Associated with Belimumab Resistance in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in the Maintenance Phase
<p>Normalized count of RNA sequences from systemic lupus erythematosus patients treated with belimumab.</p> <p>We collected blood samples from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (n=44) before and approximately 3 and 6 months after treatment by belimumab, respectively. We also included healthy individuals (n=17). There were no missing samples in the before-treatment specimen for 44 patients; however, five samples were missing at the three-month time, and four were missing at the six-month time after treatment. Whole blood samples were stored in PAXgene tubes (QUIAGEN). RNA was extracted by PAXgene Blood RNA Kit (QUIAGEN). Library preparation was performed using TruSeq stranded Total RNA Library PrepKit with Ribo-Zero Globin Human. Sequencing was conducted by NovaSeq6000 in the 100-bp paired-end mode. Sequencing reads were trimmed using Trimmomatic ver. 0.36 (leading: 20, trailing: 20, slidingwindow: 4:15, minlen: 36) and aligned to hg38 reference genome using STAR (ver. 2.7.3a). Gene counts were generated by RSEM (ver. 1.3.1) using Homo_sapiens.GRCh38.95.gtf from the Ensembl database. Gene counts were normalized by size factor implemented in DESeq2 and converted to count per million (CPM), and log<sub>2</sub>(CPM+1) was calculated. </p> <p>Sample names starting with 'R_' indicate responders, while those ending with '_NR' indicate non-responders. '0M' represents before treatment, '3M' represents three months after treatment, and '6M' represents six months after treatment. A Framework for High-throughput Sequence Alignment using Real Processing-in-Memory Systems
<p>Sequence alignment is a fundamentally memory bound computation whose performance in modern systems is limited by the memory bandwidth bottleneck. Processing-in-memory architectures alleviate this bottleneck by providing the memory with computing competencies. We propose Alignment-in-Memory (AIM), a framework for high-throughput sequence alignment using processing-in-memory, and evaluate it on UPMEM, the first publicly-available general-purpose programmable processing-in-memory system.</p>

<p>This dataset contains model scenario-files belonging to the publication "Model-based run-time and memory reduction for a mixed-use multi-energy system model with high spatial resolution".</p> <p>The individual scenarios can be executed and evaluated with the "Spreadsheet Energy System Model Generator" (<a href="https://github.com/chrklemm/SESMG">SESMG</a>) <a href="https://github.com/chrklemm/SESMG/tree/v0.4.0rc1">v0.4.0rc1</a></p> <p>The respective file names indicate to which model run mentioned in the main study the scenario-files belong. For model runs for which no sepparate scenario file exists, the scenario "reference.xlsx" with adjusted SESMG settings was used.</p> <p> </p>
Modeling of pressure induced magnetic and magnetocaloric effects in dissipative magnetic shape memory alloy systems
<p>This article presents a coupled magneto-thermo-mechanical model of pressure-dependent Magneto-caloric Effect (MCE) and magnetization responses for polycrystalline Magnetic Shape Memory Alloys (MSMA). Coupled constitutive equations are derived from a Helmholtz free energy function in a consistent thermodynamic way. The hysteretic and dissipative characteristics of phase transformations in MSMAs are captured by the internal state variables approach with their evolution equations. The model is calibrated and validated with the existing experimental data. The validated constitutive model is then exploited to predict MCEs at different pressures and magnetic field levels. Some predicted results are compared with the available experimental data.</p>

Trust is Essential: Positive Effects of Information Systems on Users' Memory require Trust in the System
<p>This dataset contains raw data collected in an experimental study at the University of Muenster, Germany. The study is part of a larger research project and examined trust effects on “intentional forgetting” in a simulated sales planning scenario. Intentional forgetting was operationalized via computer-based decision support system that enabled users to forget decision-relevant background information. Based on initial findings demonstrating that trust in the system increased intentional forgetting (Hertel et al., 2019, doi: 10.1080/00140139.2019.1574361; Hertel et al., 2018, doi: 10.5281/zenodo.1237684), we aimed to replicate this effect. Moreover, we assumed that trust in the system increases the related release of memory resources for additional tasks, decision quality, decision makers' well-being, and actual use of the system. We induced different levels of trust in the system by manipulating the reliability of the system and the credibility of information provided by the system. Moreover, we manipulated the framing (gains vs. losses) of decision outcomes as potential moderator.</p>
