<p>After copulation, the female does not emit signals, and the male continues to produce rhythmic series of vibrations. From time to time, the male produces a series of oscillations of extremely high-amplitude single blows of the body against the substrate during which the insect literally jumps in place (see in the end of the video).</p> <p>Recordings were performed using a Nikon 1J4 video camera without an infrared filter under the light of an Orient SAL-130C infrared illuminator.</p> <p> </p>

Females can also produce Type 2 and Type 3 protest sounds in the same way as males.</p> <p>In the video, can be seen and heard how the female produces wing protest sounds, as well as short clicks that accompany the movements of the mouthparts.</p>

<p>When a pair is formed, up to copulation, the male and female alternately emit a series of vibratory signals. Insects produce such signals during tremulation - vibrations of the abdomen in the vertical plane. If the range of motion is large, the male can periodically hit the substrate with the tip of the abdomen. The female usually does not touch the substrate.</p> <p>Recordings were performed using a Nikon 1J4 video camera without an infrared filter under the light of an Orient SAL-130C infrared illuminator.</p>
