<div> <p>Persistent Identifiers (PIDs), particularly Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), are crucial for establishing a robust and globally accessible research infrastructure. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, a diverse array of research outputs and resources are produced and published in repositories. However, a significant number of these repositories, and outputs remain undiscoverable in global registries and aggregators.&nbsp;<br><br>These three datasets provides comprehensive information on the adoption of repositories, Open Access mandates, and DOIs adoption in MENA countries. Geographic variation of tree height of Pinus pinaster Aiton gathered from common gardens in Europe and North-Africa

<p>This dataset&nbsp;collects individual georeferenced tree height data from <em>Pinus pinaster</em> Aiton&nbsp;planted in common gardens in France, Morocco and Spain,&nbsp;between years 1966 and 1992. The experimental design varies depending on the common garden, from a randomized complete to incomplete block design, RCB or RIB, respectively.&nbsp;The final dimension of the dataset is&nbsp;123,801 individual tree height data measurements <em>&nbsp;</em>with 14 common gardens and 182 different genetic units. The data can be used to assess genetic variation and phenotypic plasticity with further applications in biogeography and forest management.&nbsp;</p>

Mechanisms influencing physically sequestered soil carbon in temperate restored grasslands in South Africa and North America

This dataset contains a measurement of physically protected carbon (microaggregate-within-macroaggregate C) and potential drivers of physically protected C accumulation during grassland restoration. The data were collected from three independent grassland restorations from agriculture in North America and South Africa. Northeast Kansas, USA data were collected in May 2013. Northeast Free State, RSA data were collected in September–November 2005. Southeast Nebraska, USA data were collected in October 2008–May 2008. Aggregate fractionations were performed by hierarchical wet sieving (Six et al 2000). Carbon and N quantification were done by flash combustion-gas chromatography. Microbial biomass C quantification was performed with chloroform fumigation-incubation (chloroform fumigation-extraction in the case of northeast Kansas). Phospholipid fatty acid biomass analysis was conducted using the methods of Bligh and Dyer (1959).
