Dataset for "Modeling Dipolar Nonprotogenic Solvents with PC-SAFT-Type Equations of State: Pure Substance Properties"

<p>Dipolar nonprotogenic solvents (DNS) are important chemical substances used across a wide range of applications, including renewable green solvent media, sustainable energy sources, and as efficient solvents for fabricating and processing semiconductive materials used in organic photovoltaics. Therefore, for efficient solvent screening or process design, a description and prediction of the thermodynamic properties of DNS using thermodynamic models is essential. This dataset contains calculation results of four different modeling strategies within the PC-SAFT equation of state for pure-substance properties of six DNSs: gamma-valerolactone, propylene carbonate, acetonitrile, dihydrolevoglucosenone, 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and sulfolane. The modeling strategies differ in the treatment of the strong dipolar interactions of DNSs. The pure-substance properties include liquid density, vapor pressure, enthalpy of vaporization, and residual isobaric liquid heat capacity. The PC-SAFT performance was analyzed and evaluated based on the calculated data. Additionally, the dataset includes input files for quantum mechanical calculations of optimal molecular geometries and dipole moments of the considered DNSs using Gaussian 16 software.</p>

Testing of Medtronic Percept PC with MEG phantom

<p>The combination of subcortical Local Field Potential (LFP) recordings and stimulation with Magnetoencephalography (MEG) in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) patients enables the investigation of cortico-subcortical communication patterns and provides insights into DBS mechanisms. Until now, these recordings have been carried out in post-surgical patients with externalised leads. However, a new generation of telemetric stimulators makes it possible to record and stream LFP data in chronically implanted patients. Nevertheless, whether such streaming can be combined with MEG has not been tested.</p> <p>In the present study, we tested the most commonly implanted telemetric stimulator &ndash; Medtronic Percept PC with a phantom in three different MEG systems: two cryogenic scanners (CTF and MEGIN) and an experimental Optically Pumped Magnetometry (OPM)-based system.</p> <p>The dataset and code herein make it possible to reproduce most of the figures in the paper and examine additional conditions not described in detail in the paper. The data can be useful for developing, testing and benchmarking MEG artefact removal methods.</p>

Groundwater well pressure, temperature, conductance, salinity and oxygen measurements for GCE-LTER study hammock PC_i_29 from 15-Aug-2008 to 13-Dec-2013

Groundwater pressure, temperature and other parameters (e.g. conductance, salinity, oxygen and pH) were measured using various instruments installed in PVC wells at the GCE-LTER PC_i_29 pleistocene study hammock from 15-Aug-2008 to 13-Dec-2013. Observations were logged continuously at 15 minute intervals, and accumulated data were downloaded from loggers using manufacturer-provided communications software semi-monthly, then imported into MATLAB for post-processing, quality control and documention. Raw, unvented pressure readings were corrected for atmospheric pressure and sensor height from the bottom of the well to generate corrected pressure readings. Separate data tables are provided for each combination of instrument and well due to differences in parameters measured and post-processing steps, but all tables include detailed information on location and well characteristics to support integration and analysis. These data were collected as part of the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER Intensive Hammock Characterization and Hammock Groundwater Modeling projects, and will be used for groundwater modeling studies at two marsh hammocks on Sapelo Island, Georgia.

High frequency sediment surface temperature measurements at GCE-LTER study hammock PC_i_29 from 15-Aug-2008 to 24-Sep-2012

Sediment surface temperature was recorded at 5 minute intervals adjacent to 7 groundwater wells installed at the GCE-LTER study hammock PC_i_29 on Sapelo Island, Georgia, from 15-Aug-2008 to 24-Sep-2012. Temperature was measured using Onset Hobo Tidbit temperature loggers that were placed onto the surface of the sediment in shallow PVC enclosures to protect against solar radiation. Data were downloaded from the logger and processed using the manufacturer's software, then imported into MATLAB for post-processing, quality control and documention. Individual data tables were created for each location to minimize file size for analysis, but complete location and deployment information are included in each table to facilitate integration. These data were collected as part of the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER Intensive Hammock Characterization project to illucidate the timing of marsh inundation, and will be used for groundwater modeling studies at two marsh hammocks on Sapelo Island, Georgia.

Figure Data_Edge modes in 1D MW PC

<p>(a,b) The 2D transmission spectra of the finite periodic microstrip calculated for different values of the bulk<br>parameter: l/d. The solid black lines mark the edges of the bands for the infinite microstrip, corresponding to kz = 0 or kz = π/d. Two ratios l/d = 0.25 and 0.625 are indicated by vertical dashed lines. The symmetry of the Bloch function at the edges of the band is indicated by the letters S and A, respectively. We considered the system (a) composed of five centrosymmetric cells and (b) its modification, where we added cells of modified sizes at the beginning and end of the microstrip. The sizes of the edge cells and all other parameters are the same as those given in the System section. (c,d) The cross section of the 2D spectra (a,b) at l/d = 0.625 (solid black curves) is supplemented by the measured (red curve) transmission spectra for fabricated structures. For the microstrip with additional cells of modified sizes, we can identify the transmission peaks in the second frequency gap (gray area in (d)). This double peak is attributed to edge modes that decay exponentially in space. It is noteworthy that the edge modes do not exist in the second gap for smaller values of l/d. This is related to the qualitative change in the spectrum, where the order of the edges of the gap and their symmetry are swapped: from symmetric (antisymmetric), for small l/d, to antisymmetric (symmetric), for large l/d, at the lower (upper) edge of the gap. The frequency of the edge modes can be tuned by modifying the edge cells: d0 = 12.5 mm, l0 = 0.5 mm, w0 = 11 mm – see black dotted line. The induction of the edge modes is obtained at the expense of attenuation of the third band due to the strong impedance mismatch in this frequency range.</p>
